Summer by the sea…
A few more shots of a recent project renovating holiday rentals right on the beach in North Devon.
Creating open plan living kitchen areas, practical furnishings perfect for easy coastal lifestyles.
In all we did 6 apartments and I wanted to stay in all of them-cracking unbeatable location, a massive transformation.

Total transformation for this beachside coastal apartment, one of six we’re updating, if you look at the before photos you’ll see how far this one has come! Finally getting round to photographing some work, it feels good to start the year looking back and forward at the same time. I can’t wait to get stuck in to 2023 and all the new projects on the horizon. Thanks to all of you who are patient enough to be interested!

Finally found a place for the giant scissors!

Crazy Autumn weather, one minute sunny the next minute definitely not! This looks more like Spring.

Home is where the heart is…I feel so privileged to have this on my doorstep, driving home this morning from a site visit I had to stop and drink in the view.

Been so busy installing and collating for clients’ projects*, alongside visual consultancy and photography work, that I nearly didn’t get my daughter’s room finished.
Luckily blinds are now up (thanks to the amazing Jane at Pinhead for her sewing and drilling skills!) and the room is almost complete…

Sorry for the delay, been struggling a bit for rhythm and groove, but had a wonderful two day staycation to make up for yet another cancelled trip, and am now feeling properly refreshed.
As promised, another scheme/moodboard thingy. This one is for a luxurious dressing room/bedroom. Relaxing blues and peaceful wallpaper alongside wooden floors and aged mirrors. Blue and ochre soft furnishings/headboard and chairs, neutral curtains with trim.

Happy New Year!

To kick start 2022 I’ve decided to start a mood-board series. I’d like to say it’ll be every week, but I imagine life and work will get in the way, so if it’s ok with you I’ll keep the timings a bit fluid!

Here we have a nod to the nautical with a graphic ‘Slade Stripe’ fabric teamed with ‘Wimborne White’ paint. The floral ‘Naked Angelica’ print sits well with her blue and white ‘Charlie Stripe’. For an accent I’ve chosen a rusty ‘Isla Velvet’ in Fox paired with ‘Brushed Cotton’ in tawny pink.

At last all our ‘babies’ are home for Christmas!

Happy Friday feeling.

Few days of R&R coming up…totally over excited, it feels like a long time since I’ve had to pack a bag! Just finished ironing a few bits and turned around to see this.

In old houses like this one there’s often a lot of corridor going on. Corridors shouldn’t be neglected, and can be seen as links leading the eye through from one area to another. Using colours which sit together helps to keep it all harmonious here leads into with classic woodwork.
Tough and hard wearing flooring also works a treat in corridors and .ltd did a great job of fitting this sisal.

Welcoming October.
In truth I’ve only just got over the fact we were in September!
With a busy Autumn ahead - new interior design clients, some freelance visual design consultancy, and now this lovely new addition to the household (a Victorian nursing chair) I’m sure it’ll be an exciting month.
And yes, this isn’t a carefully curated shot, but an honest photo of a brief moment in time - so in other words I’m accepting the curled corner of the rug this time!

September already-feeling a bit confused by that-how is that even possible?

My new office is almost finished, just a few pictures to go up (new desk to be seriously tidied already which is why it isn’t in this shot!), and so pleased that my rug finally arrived. Photos of the whole project coming soon.

I’m finding the luxury vinyl tile flooring just brilliant, it is so forgiving and easy to look after, and our ancient Habitat chair is still going strong, but the Teyssier] Penelope fabric - it just makes me smile, I mean properly grin!

Enjoying putting this scheme together for a new client project, love a stripe.

It has been one of those weeks where everything is two steps forward and one step back-having to remember to keep calm and try to smile.

Small gains - the dahlias are springing into life, and my favourite strawberry daiquiri mix is being delivered today!
