Back in a boat…and surfing Caswell.
Finally! 😊
Not exactly the most picturesque hike in the world…😬. To keep my Hill and Moorland Leader qualification relevant, I need to do a number of walks a year so I thought I’d get one under my belt. Me and Pete have been looking at this hill for a while so a plan was hatched to climb it post assessment. Whilst it was good to catch up with me old mukka, the views were made slightly underwhelming due to the prevailing unforecast weather conditions.
Cardiff Bay jaunt in the new ride. 😊
New ride time to celebrate! 😅
HML Night Navigation assessment… So, I was up a hill of an evening, as you do like, and came across a touch of Aurora Borealis like…
My final hill before assessment. Wet, windy and f@ck all visibility…so perfect conditions. My coat kept dry…unlike Layla.
Tair Carn Isaf and friends. Hill and Moorland Leader Assessment in 5 days. 😬

Another hike up another hill getting ready for assessment next week 😬 I first kayaked across to Porlock in 2007 from Southerndown and I’ve always wondered what the view was like from the top of this mound. And now I know. And so does Layla. 😊
A trip out to Exmoor for my Hill and Moorland Leader training.
Hill and Moorland Leader training today out at Fan Gyhirych today with Pete and Layla.
Mucho sogginess today at Fan Llia. Would have been lovely to have actually seen anything too. 🙄
Pacing exercise at The Garth with Pete and Layla.

Going full atmospheric for last night’s paddle! Newton Bay to Ogmore via a little surf at Merthyr Mawr. 😊
More Hill and Moorland Leader training with Sean, Josh and Moss. Next time, remembering my compass might be an idea.
Fair play…it was bloody ‘orrible on the hill today. Shout out to Escape Water Sports though - my new top was, erm, top. Going to wear kayaking trousers next time as well!
New tune time! https://youtu.be/KWBInQKrcis?si=ikuXnfXtvxjaIvgM
