At our last Repair Cafe we had the privilege of reuniting a much loved and treasured family teddy bear.

A few months ago, Steve came to our Repair Cafe with a Teddy Ruxpin bear in desperate need of repair.

The bear was brought by Steve's Dad, as a gift for Steve's Mum many years ago. Sadly, Steve's Dad has passed away, and Ruxpin's voice box no longer worked.

Repairing the bear was definitely a team effort. James, Ian and Jamie worked on the mechanics, whilst our team of stitchers, Anne and Caroline took great care in unstitching Ruxpin's head so we could get to the mechanics...and with a bit of TLC fixing it back on.

The result....a bear returned to its glory and back with a family who hold him dear as a reminder of a loved one.

We look forward to continuing our great work in 2024, we love what we do!

If you have something that needs repairing, or would like to volunteer with please send us an email at [email protected]

Well another successful event. Thanks to everyone who came out and to the Lord Mayor and Mayoress for attending the event. Also a big Thank You as always to our excellent volunteers, without you this would not be possible.

This event we had a total of 14 items and we were able to repair 10 of them. We saved a total of 25kg from the landfill and prevented 140kg of CO2 emissions.
