Have you missed me? Well for one day only, I am thrilled to be popping up at The Space, Bath. There will be a selection of unique products from my range of homewares, some of which you have never seen before! Come and shop with me in the heart of Southgate, Bath.

Founded by Chloe Knowlden, in the heart of Bath, The Space was curated to allow you to drop out of the thinking mind, into the feeling body. The perfect space for a collaboration with WLK.

HOW TO FIND US: The Space is above Hairzone, in Southgate. Go through the entrance to the left of Cornish Bakehouse. This will be signposted clearly on the day. We are on the 2nd floor, right at the top.

Polly here…I firstly want to apologise for my lack of presence on this platform over the last few months.

In all honesty, I haven’t really known what to say…

The last year, has been a rather strange one for WLK (as I know it has been for many). Things definitely changed a lot post-covid for my business, which we all saw was coming, & for a business that was born in the midst of the pandemic it was a pretty tough transition (I am talking about shipping costs, importing, rent, business rates, packaging, product costs, cost-of-living crisis, spending habits…etc). It is stacked up against us.

With a beautifully big shop in the centre of Bath which I poured my heart into, the only solution to the ‘financial-stress’ I felt was weighing very heavy at the beginning of 2023 was to strip it back to basics again. At the time it felt like someone has ripped out my soul and stamped on it, but quite honestly it was the best thing I could have done. Pride definitely gave me some guilt-ridden moments which have lasted all year, but to make a living I saw the birth of another business which relied on only myself; a service, not a product.

What I am trying to say, is that whatever you carry yourself into, be proud of the pivot. Be proud of being able to swallow some pride and adapt when the pendulum isn’t swinging your way. That in itself is commendable.

WLK is always here, it’s my baby & an extension of me as a person. I am not going anywhere, just been taking a breather for the sake of my own head. So if you choose to stay with me through the quieter times, I promise it’ll be worth it when the flowers are in full bloom again 🤍

Happy 3rd Birthday to my proudest achievement yet 🤍

This creative lockdown project turned accidental full-blown business, has been the making (& occasional breaking) of me.

Through the battle wounds of executing 2 huge retail units, winging my way through how to set up a business from the ground-up, the tears of pure joy, and of course the tears of failure, I have poured my heart & soul into every inch of WLK since it all began in May 2020.

Anyone who knows what it is like to run your own business, to rely on yourself day-in-day-out, to ‘ride solo’ in the midst of a pandemic; will know that the stress, the migraines, the teeth grinding, the sleepless nights…are all worth it in the end. There is nothing quite as accomplishing as watching your baby grow from strength to strength, and more importantly learning to pivot when things get tough.

Wouldn’t change it for the world! Here’s to the next 3 years…..

If you’re anything like me, you’re spending most of your bank holiday weekend enjoying your carefully curated home space and nit-picking all of the little details for the millionth time…😅🤍

There really is nothing like faffing around in your home sweet home, is there? Well, here is a series of stills of me doing exactly that.

If you work from home I am sure you can relate? When you’re interiors obsessed, you’re constantly moving things around, readjusting your arrangements, plumping the cushions….design never rests.

Have you ever wanted to launch your own pop-up shop & haven’t really known where to start?

I was in the same boat when I decided to open my first pop-up shop in 2020, I had no idea what I was doing. So, as a favour to you, I have done all of the hard work and created a little guide on how to successfully launch a pop-up shop for your own business!

Pop-ups are a fantastic way of testing the water for your business without taking the huge financial commitment, but also give our high-streets an injection of independent life! It’s a win win.

I am still no expert, but have learned A LOT along the way, having successfully run not just one but two long-standing pop-up shops here in Bath.

Trial and error has given me a lot of knowledge on how to execute it from the get-go, so I thought I would share my hottest tips with you…

2 holiday apartments set over 3 floors of this beautifully spacious high-ceiling Tudor building in the centre of Dartmouth, Devon.

Despite not needing to add any more light and space, I kept the paint colours neutral and fresh to compliment the WLK decor. This is especially important for a holiday let; ensuring it is a calm & inviting environment for the guests.

Working with high ceilings was a dream; it allowed me to install large boho rattan pendants and also work with very subtle colour blocking above/below the picture rails.

On the top floor we were blessed with natural wooden beams that allowed the top 3 guest bedrooms to have a cosier feel.

My initial steps included removing all of the heavy curtains that covered the countless windows across the property and replace them with slatted blinds. I also removed any sign of the traditional “seaside” paraphernalia that seemed to clutter every room.

Alongside a few more statement pieces, like in the African-inspired living room, it of course featured macramé installs to compliment the array of natural tones/textures.

04.06.23 • The Frome Independent Market •

I am so excited to announce that I have finally got my hands on a pitch at the wonderful .

The Frome Independent is an award winning, destination street market, reclaiming Frome’s high street once a month to showcase the best independent craftspeople, designers, makers, food producers and vintage traders in the South West.

The market takes place on the first Sunday of the month from March to December and strives to be ‘more than a market’, incorporating live music, DJs, street performance, workshops and activities for children and adults alike on market days.

The market is a free event for visitors and has quickly grown to be one of the most significant elements in the region’s calendar attracting over 80,000 visitors each year.

When the days start getting darker, this is when I really focus on bringing fresh,
light textures & tones to my interiors.

This was something I tried to emulate when I moved back from living overseas. Creating the light and warmth I would experience everyday in a tropical climate, trying to remove the emphasis on our dark winter days.

I really do believe that if you suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder), tailoring your home to bring in light can make a huge difference.
