Yesterday I assessed a child who is going into Year 6 in September, and today a student who has just completed her GCSE’s. Both now have a clear understanding of their amazing strengths and how their vulnerable areas can be supported. I feel so lucky to do my job. I get to help people and meet the most wonderful families 🥰. Friday I am assessing a medical student.

I’ve had lots of enquiries recently asking about ‘online dyslexia assessments’ so I thought I would post some answers here for you all:

•✨The publishing companies that provide the testing materials for qualified specialist dyslexia assessors to administer, also do digital tests for online use✨

•✨These have been around for a while but gained popularity after Covid-19✨

•✨Vast Research into the reliability and validity of the tests have shown no difference between online and face to face- great news!!✨

•✨Now we have evidence that they are equally as reliable as face to face, many are taking advantage of this option✨

Why?

•✨ Research showed that parents and children actually prefer them!✨

•✨The assessment can take place in the family home where children feel most relaxed. Even pets can be cuddled throughout✨

•✨You are not restricted to area when finding an assessor! This is important as you need to find someone you and your child feel comfortable with✨

•✨The assessment can be split into chunks for your child✨

•✨Even if you are at an International School, you can still have an online Dyslexia Assessment that meets the high SASC standard✨

What do you need?
