๐งPROTEIN HEMP FALAFELS๐ง Everybody loves falafels, but we're taking them up a notch by making them hemp-centric, meaning their not only delicious, but also good for you๐ We've used our Hemp Protein Powder in this recipe, ensuring that it's full of amino acids, magnesium, iron and fibre! But how do you make them? Well, you will need... ๐ง2 x 400g tin of chickpeas ๐ง4 tbsp olive oil ๐ง2 tsp ground cumin ๐ง2 tsp ground coriander ๐ง2 tbsp tahini ๐ง2 tbsp Funktional Foods Hemp Protein powder ๐ง2 tbsp gram flour ๐งHandful of fresh coriander, roughly chopped ๐ง100g hemp seeds, to coat ๐งPinch of salt and pepper, to taste And what you'll need to do is... ๐งPreheat the oven to 200ยฐ (fan oven) ๐งGrease a baking tray with olive oil ๐งPlace all the ingredients into a food processor or blender, except for the chickpeas and hemp seeds ๐งPulse the ingredients to a doughy consistency ๐งSeason with salt and pepper to tastiness of choice ๐งGet the chickpeas involved adding them to the mixture and pulsing a few times to form a chunky mix ๐งRoll 1 tbsp of the falafel mixture into a ball and roll it in the hemp seeds, then place on the baking tray ๐งFill your baking tray with your protein falafel ๐งPlace tray into the heated oven ๐งBake for 35-40 minutes until the falafel turn a golden-brown colour ๐งLeave to cool for 5 minutes and enjoy your creations! If you don't try this you're seriously missing out๐ This recipe may not be as easy as our others but it's definitely worth the extra 30 minutes of your time, plus, all your friends will be thanking you๐ To make this sweet treat, you will need... ๐200g ground almonds ๐1/2 cup Funktional Foods Protein Banana Blend (60g) ๐1 tsp baking powder ๐1 tsp baking soda ๐1 tsp cinnamon ๐1/2 tsp salt ๐1/3 cup chia seeds or flax seeds ๐1/4 cup maple syrup ๐3 tbsp melted coconut oil ๐1/3 cup almond milk ๐1 tsp vanilla extract ๐2 large ripe bananas (mashed) And you'll need to... ๐Preheat your oven to 180c (160c fan) and prepare a loaf tin with parchment paper and oil the sides with coconut oil. ๐Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix together. ๐In a separate bowl whisk the coconut oil (melted), maple syrup, almond milk and vanilla extract. Add the mashed bananas and peanut butter, then whisk until all combined. ๐Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. ๐Pour into the prepared tin and bake in the centre of the oven for 50-55 minutes, or until its dark brown and the cake skewer comes out clean. ๐Let cool and then top with more peanut butter and enjoy!
