The combination of the sunlight and shadows that are hitting the Moongate this morning are just perfect 👌🏼🌞

The Corten Moongate was the final piece of the puzzle for completing this garden. Expertly designed by the Bath Garden Design team, it creates this stunning entrance to the garden and perfectly links the Japanese influence, working elegantly with the boulders, charred timber, and lucious green planting.

Here's an update from one of our projects completed earlier this year ✨️

Our mission was to renovate an old, uneven terrace and turn it into something much more inviting, but still in keeping with the building and sympathetic to its surroundings.

We only slightly extended it to allow for easier access to the side of the house, but wow, does it feel much bigger now!

We opted for a reclaimed style red brick for the facing stone of the walls to mirror the quions of the house. We then used the Tumbled Buscot Limestone from , which picks up the stone walls beautifully.

The large, swooping borders of the garden were then continued in front of the new terrace, creating a seamless connection. Our client - an advid gardener - has planted these up to match the rest of the scheme, and even though it's only been in a couple of months, it's already looking fantastic and always been there.

I can't wait to see this space next year, a beautiful area to enjoy a beautiful garden ❤️

A look at one of our design and build projects from earlier this year.

The brief for this garden was to create a space that the clients could use for entertaining, increase the seasonal interest with a broader selection of planting and to make better use for practical elements like storage and growing.

We replaced the old concrete paving with a new, larger terrace at the back of the property using a slightly textured porcelain to compliment the house, this also helps to reflect light back into downstairs rooms.

The clients wanted a space that they could sit beneath, even in our slightly wetter summers, so we added a solid roof timber gazebo with a matching smaller lean-to around the side of the house for the BBQ and storage. The frame has been wired and will have Trachelospermum trained over for evergreen foliage and gorgeous summer scent.

The border space has been increased to allow for lots of lovely planting - our favourite combinations of ornamental grasses, long flowering, pollinator friendly perennials and small trees.

The lower corner is for the practical elements of the garden - a shed and storage for pots and a wheelbarrow. We have installed a simple slatted panel, to be trained with climbers, that will hide this view from the house.

It was an excellent effort from all the team for what was quite a hard build over the wet winter months.

We look forward to coming back in a few weeks to see the planting really taking off! 🌾🌸

We may have another wet week ahead, but we are so nearly there!

Here's a look at one of our recently presented garden designs.

A beauiful garden tucked away in the heart of Bath, we were asked to put forward a design to improve the current terrace space and include a secondary, larger entertaining zone that made the most of the evening sun.

Set on a large bank, the cantilevered deck will give the illusion of floating above a mass of gorgeous shrubs and perennials, keeping the overall look of the space sympathetic to the surrounding landscape.

A simple pallette of reclaimed pennant, compacted gravel and hardwood decking ensures the new planting scheme will be the real focus of the renovation.

We're looking for a skilled landscaper to join our team here in Bath, working to create beautiful new gardens from our own in-house designs, as well as collaborations with other established designers in the local area.

The role will be suited to someone with at least 3-5 years experience as a skilled landscaper, proficient in all aspects of domestic garden builds. You must be enthusiastic, have an eye for detail, and be capable and confident to lead a team on a day to day basis.

The role is offered on a sub contracting basis, with the possibility of full-time employment after a probationary period if desired.

We are looking to grow our team for some exciting upcoming projects, creating and maintaining beautiful gardens in Bath and the surrounding areas.

• Skilled/Semi Skilled Landscaper - We are looking for an individual with at least 3 years of experience in garden builds, covering all aspects of hard landscaping.
Full Time role, good rates of pay (dependant on experience)
Examples of previous work and references are preferable.

• Trainee Landscaper - this role would suit anyone looking to start out in the industry, learning from experienced colleagues in a wide range of build techniques.

• Part-time Gardener - the ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in domestic gardens, with the ability to undertake all types of horticultural maintenance work. Should be confident working alone or as part of a team.

Our family garden, completed earlier this year, has filled out beautifully over the summer 💚

It's been an extremely busy couple of months for us at Viridis, with a large design + build project running on the outskirts of Bath, a few smaller city centre garden renovations completed and a couple of design projects on the go 🙌🏼

This is a glimpse at one of our recently presented garden designs, creating a space for entertaining and unwinding.

This design features a spacious limestone terrace for dining, swooping borders planted with layers of perennials, shrubs, and grasses to add interest throughout the year and subtle screening down the garden, and a lower casual seating area, with fire pit and bespoke curved pergola, surrounded by tall grasses and wildflowers. 🌾

Back to work today after a much needed long weekend away.

Lots of lovely views of the sea, little islands and coastal paths to explore.

It was my first time visiting Tenby, and we were lucky to get the beautiful weather for most of it ☀️

I'll be working my way through any enquiries and emails today, so thank you for your patience while I catch up.

A quick visit last week to one we completed at the end of May.

The garden had to immediately endure intense heat for the first few weeks, and now the constant rain, but it's looking as though everything is settling in well and filling out beautifully.

We will be coming back later in autumn to plant a lot of spring bulbs, then look forward to seeing this little oasis in all its glory next year 💚

A glimpse at a corner of a garden we completed last year.

We redesigned the mass expanse of tarmac drive in this garden to create a more family and wildlife friendly space, linking the house to the garden beyond with a sandstone terrace for evening dining, and cladding the existing block garage with this black timber to create a dramatic backdrop to the surrounding area.

This potager garden is absolutely stunning, and the greenhouse and corten steel features around it blend beautifully into the surrounding meadow.

The planting was designed and implemented by the client and her lovely gardener, and I think you'll agree that she has done an incredible job.
