Friendly Local Electrician. Here to help!
Created a new circuit for some drop lights over a breakfast bar for a valued customer. 😊
A lovely email from our customer regarding today’s challenging job! Conquered my vertigo…. Just about! The LED colour change strip looks amazing though 😎
Todays Job was one I was not looking forward to, not because of anything to do with electrics but because I am not a fan of working from a mobile scaffold, especially one over a concrete spiral staircase! Nevertheless after some shimmying, adjustments, huffing and puffing, we finally got the scaffold in place and the easy bit of fitting some nice downlights and LED strip for a valued customer in their Art Deco style home could begin!
Vintage 1950’s light switches being changed for 2020 vintage effect ones 🙂
New trainee Harvey and Kalem (on loan) hard at a kitchen rewire in St Leonard’s.
Good work lads!
Today’s job was fitting a new Defibrillator machine and cabinet at Pebsham Community Centre. A good thing to have just in case!
As part of a rewire in Waldron we Managed to get this old fashioned room and door bell system back working with a new transformer. 🙂
I am looking to hire an enthusiastic young learner/labourer with an interest in Electrics for ongoing domestic and commercial work.
Preferably someone who wants to study for their electrical qualifications and requires “on the job” experience.
A driving licence would be an advantage but will make an exception for the right candidate.
Vital requirements are…
Ability to take instruction and listen!
Have a safe and sensible attitude towards Electrics
Good time-keeping
Polite and courteous
Good work ethic
The role will be self employed, paid weekly, with wage being discussed upon meeting.
If interested please send a CV to [email protected]
A good challenge today fitting this ceiling hung Hob extractor. Required power from elsewhere in the house and also bracing with 4x2 above the ceiling due to the weight. All in and working well. Happy customer 😁
This week we visited Newhaven Fisheries to change all the lighting over to LED. The picture never does it justice but the difference in lighting in there is markedly better 😎
Very eye catching….. and it did…..several times 🤨 but it looks nice 😁
New Consumer Unit for a customer today
Today was a good day. We started off with a right old mess (I had already removed the old consumer unit ) but ended well with the new consumer unit on and ready for a lot more circuits to be run in and prepped. This is a long term rewire/renovation for another of our valued customers. 😊
No break for us this week as we started a massive project for a valued customer in Bodiam. The entire commercial building requires updating and adapting so we have started at the beginning which is to make safe, rip out and start again with new, safe, updated electrics. It’s ongoing with more pics to follow!
Happy Christmas to all our customers, friends and family from us at Lydan Services!
See you all in 2024!!
Not posted in a while so will be doing some updating in the New year. In the meantime this was a Dual Tarriff consumer unit change in Sidcup today. 😊
New downlights for an elderly customer requiring more light for security
Urgent phone call from a customer yesterday to say they had lost all power in the kitchen and could not reset the RCD in the consumer unit. A quick investigation narrowed it down to the kitchen circuit and then to this socket which it seems the tiler has managed to screw it back straight into the live cable, resulting in it blowing a groove in the screw and damaging the back of the socket. Cables remade and a new socket and all back on. Happy customer 😁
We are in the process of rewiring a large Victorian property in St Leonard’s and some of the “bodges” we’ve found are nothing short of dangerous ⚡️
If your Consumer Unit is buzzing, it may not be what you think it is! The rest of the consumer was chocka block with them!
New Consumer unit and replacement Electric shower for a customer today. 😊
This week we visited a 13th Century Manor House to replace multiple 16th edition consumer units and old fused isolators with 1 RCBO and Surge protected fire rated board. Added protection for a listed building and peace of mind for the owner 😊
All washed and ready to do battle with another week 😎
Tumble dryer burning out it’s own plug 😳
New dryers at pebsham Community Hub
