𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙤𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨? It's very much dependant on your hair type, but we usually say every 6-8 weeks.

𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧 𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡? Yes! You can still curl / wave / straighten your hair - I'd just advise you to use heat protection.

Here is a prime example of making sure the Root Tap / Root Melt matches the natural root colour!!! My lovely client had a few silvers we needed to cover so we needed to colour the root area, but we wanted to keep it low maintenance with the re-growth so I made sure the colour I applied was VERY close to her natural. Make sure you always double check with your Stylist to make sure they match up your root colour instead of going darker (unless that’s what you’re wanting). Going darker with your Root Tap / Root Melt will leave you with banding and an uneven re-growth.

My lovely client had a very light base to work with, hence why we could get her this light in just one session. If your hair is dark naturally, it’s worth knowing it will take a fair few sessions to get you to the blonde you want to achieve! ☺️

Just a little something worth knowing... If you have lighter pieces going through your hair, you will usually need a toner every 6-8 weeks. This is due to the tone fading from hair washing etc. And the lighter pieces may appear to be too warm or a little on the brassy side. A toner will get rid of these unwanted tones. It’s also a quick service so if you’re tight on time and just want a quick refresh - a toner is the answer! 👧🏾
