Well done to our boys and girls who competed in the Belfast City Council relay competition at Victoria Park this morning.
Congratulations to all of our boys and girls, especially those running in Dundonald colours for the very first time. A big thanks as always to our parents for helping with transport and supporting our teams.
This morning we welcomed the Khulula Choir from Eswatini (Swaziland) as part of the Challenge Ministries charity. Our P5-P7 pupils enjoyed sharing our singing and then listening to the visiting choir singing and dancing. Our visitors enjoyed spending the rest of the morning with us in DPS.
A huge thank you to our P5-P7 families on behalf of the charity for the generous £2500 raised in the "One Buy One" Pots.
Thankyou to everyone involved this morning 💚❤
Yesterday twenty p6 girls went to W5 for a Girls on Track event promoting careers for girls in motorsport. They designed a racing circuit, programmed a robot sphere, changed tyres in a pitstop and met William Creighton the 2023 Junior World Rally Champion. A great day out and very inspirational!
We are delighted to be welcoming the Khulula Choir to our P5-P7 assembly tomorrow. The Khulula choir have travelled from Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland. The choir are supported by Challenge Ministries who provide care and support for the vulnerable children in Eswatini.
If you are interested in seeing the choir they are currently touring Northern Ireland and the dates and venues are shown in the picture.
We look forward to updating you on their visit!
As today is World Mental Health Day, we want to highlight the importance we place on the mental health and well-being of all our pupils at Dundonald Primary School. We offer a wide range of supports to ensure that every child feels supported, including access to counselling, well-being programs as well as access to resources for both pupils and families. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Burns via email [email protected] or by calling into the school office if you require support for your child’s mental health. Together, we can nurture a positive and caring environment for our children and our school community.
Congratulations to our footballers on an impressive display against Abbey Primary School.
A goal in each half combined with a solid defensive performance saw us come away with a 2-0 win.
Let’s go Dundonald! ⚽️⚽️⚽️
This morning we welcomed Rev Tim Anderson to our P1-P4 assembly for the final time. Having been a close friend of the school from St. Elizabeth's next door, we are very grateful for the longstanding support Rev Anderson has given to the school for many years. We hope he has a happy & relaxing retirement and we send him and his family our best wishes for this new chapter.
Rev Anderson was delighted to receive a farewell retirement gift, presented by Robyn and Jacob from everyone in DPS.
Thankyou

⭐⭐⭐⭐Eco School of the Year!!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another fantastic day for Dundonald Primary School & Nursery Unit.
Today we attended the NI Eco Schools awards ceremony at Stranmillis College for schools from everywhere across Northern Ireland. We were in attendance to receive our 4th Eco Schools Green Flag Award.
To our surprise, we thought our part in the ceremony was completed.... later the final speeches of the ceremony were read out we were stunned to be announced as the Eco School of the Year.
What an incredible achievement!!!!
Thank you to Gabrielle P5, Farrah P6, and Anna P7 for representing our Eco Council at the ceremony. This fantastic award represents all of the hard work our Eco-Council and school community have dedicated to various Eco Projects during the past 2 years.
This is also a huge acknowledgement of the exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment of Mrs Julie McGonigle who has been instrumental in the coordination of Eco Schools. This prestigious recognition is a reward for her outstanding contribution and positive impact on our pupils and school community.
Congratulations everyone at DPS ❤💚🏆🏆💚❤
