Update on TOXIE …( PART TWO )…

He had been reserved and named by his new owner at 3 weeks old and she still wanted him … ( Said he was even more special now ). 🥰
Knowing how animal experienced the family are and they already have one of our APH’s we were happy to let him go as we know how much he will be loved and cared for …
As you can see from the pic his eye settled down well and wasn’t bothering him at all …
In fact one of the vets even thinks he may still have some degree of sight in that eye.
We know we will be kept updated on his progress…
He really was a joy to work with and never once resisted having his eye cleaned and eye drops put in. 💙🩵

TOXIE’S STORY …( PART ONE )…

On 3rd January Toxie (one of Torra’s babies) suffered an injury to his eye which became very enlarged and protruding.
We thought that it might mean removal of the eye ball but fortunately after treatment with eye drops and pain relief the swelling has gone down and although he may lose the sight in that eye he didn’t need to have the eye ball removed.
He was a big hit at Clare vets and their post about him has had over 200 likes.
We aren’t sure exactly how the injury happened but the eye lid looks to have several cuts which could have been caused by a bite or a claw.
When he returned from the vets Torra got quite agitated and we were concerned that she might cause him further injury.
We decided to foster him and his brother ‘Theo’ with Belvita who we know is a great mum and she accepted them both straight away.
We will update the second part of Toxies story in a day or two.

It’s not all cats and dogs in Clare Vets! This little pygmy hedgehog is Toxie who was in to visit vet Martin this evening.
