Last year I gave my daughter a well known store bought cake for her birthday as all my equipment was hidden behind our Christmas tree.
And boy oh boy has she given me grief over it for the whole year 😂😂 so I couldn’t let her down again this year.

This year I made her a pistachio flavoured sponge with a pistachio buttercream.

So when I was asked to make a cake for this Harry Potter fan, I knew that it had to be special!

All the models are handmade and edible. The logo was cut freehand and painted in gold lustre.

This delicious chocolate cake is filled with chocolate buttercream and finished with a milk chocolate ganache and a dark chocolate drip.

It’s garnished with fresh strawberries, raspberries and a mixture of dark and milk chocolate pieces.

Quite simply - a chocoholics dream cake 😍

Celebrating 50 years of marriage is some achievement. This wonderful couple celebrated with this beautiful two tiered cake.
The bottom tier was a vanilla sponge filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. Top tier was a moist chocolate sponge filled with a chocolate buttercream.

Reaching such a big milestone birthday deserves a cake that represents you. So for this birthday girl, her favourite flavours of an elderflower sponge with lemon butter cream was requested. Her love of gardening was the theme of the cake.

Ordered a new oven and have spent the past month trying to get used to it. Sent it back as you needed a degree to figure out how to use it. Have just picked up another one, so hopefully this will be the ‘one’ that I can master so I can start taking orders on again. I can’t and won’t send anything out of my kitchen unless it’s up to my high standards that you as a paying customer deserve. I think hair dye is next on the shopping list as the greys are appearing rapidly over the stress of ovengate 😳🤣 Thank you for bearing with me 🙏🏼

Hello everyone. I’m returning to baking after having a break this summer after catching COVID and losing my sense of smell and taste (not great for a baker!) my oven breaking and generally needing timeout to get myself back on track. A new oven is arriving this week, so once I’ve got used to it, my order books will be reopening. I am once again taking orders for my individual Christmas cakes too.

Oh Lordy, the second photo is a birthday cake that I made 11 years ago for myself and it’s just popped up on my memories. It’s horrendous, I placed the flowers in the middle to disguise the massive sink hole and cracks that were there 🙈 I was so proud of the cake and the cupcakes. The first photo is my latest cake and the last photo are recent cupcakes that show that my piping has improved. So glad that through perseverance I’ve improved my skills!

Lockdown has meant that many families have missed birthdays with their loved ones, so when your friend asks you to make a cake for their mother in law as they couldn’t be with her last year, you know that you’ve got to make it extra special. First time doing stripes too!
