📆♻ Christmas bin dates ♻📆

Here's all you need to know about bin collections this Christmas 🗑️🎄🎅📆

Bins will be emptied two days later than normal during Christmas week - so if your bin day would have been Monday (which is Christmas Day) we'll collect on Wednesday. Tuesday collections will be Thursday and so on.

Then the following week (beginning Monday 1 January), bins will be collected one day later than usual - so Monday collections will be on Tuesday, Tuesday collections will be Wednesday and so on.

Everything is back to normal from Monday 8 January.

Week Commencing Monday 3rd July

We are due back the Sandwell area cleaning bins next week but with the strikes potentially going on till 21st July this may not be possible.

Hopefully will be resolved sooner rather than later, we will be returning once both bins are be collected on correct days.

We will try keep page updated if any changes occur before next week.

There are temporary changes to bin collections and some other services due to continued industrial action being undertaken by some employees at Serco, our waste collection provider.

General waste and garden waste collections have continued this week - if your bin hasn’t been collected, please leave it out until it is. This will be done as soon as possible, which may include Saturday.

Next week (w/c 12 June), leave your general waste bin (and your garden waste bin if you subscribe) out on the usual day and leave it out until it has been emptied.

Recycling bins and food waste bins will not be collected. Please keep your recycling if you can for future collections, or alternatively recycling can be disposed of at the tip.

The focus by both Sandwell Council and Serco is to ensure that the disruption caused to bin collections is kept to a minimum.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The household recycling centre (the tip) remains open.

We hope talks can continue and that a resolution can be found as soon as possible.

We've had a fair few enquiries so due to demand we will help you out with your Smelly Dirty Bins!!

To begin it will only be the Oldbury area bins will be cleaned on a Saturdays morning so will need to be left empty and accessible for staff.

One off cleaning £7.50 per bin payable upfront.

Regular 4 weekly cleaning £7.50 initial clean per bin then £4 per bin every 4 weeks there after.
