Empathy, to acknowledge another person’s feelings, to feel and understand what they are saying or reflecting. ❣️
Endings can bring about different emotions. However they can also signify the beginning of something new. Embrace your journey and what you have learned along the way as these will often shape you. 💫 ❤️
Sand ready for a therapy session. 💕
Beautifully written. Trusting the process and accepting our clients as they are is congruent to the process and in turn facilitates healing. Beautiful moments in therapy.
Creative therapy’s and arts tell a story when words cannot. Feelings and emotions can be expressed creatively especially when it is difficult to talk about feelings through words.
A brief overview of sandplay in therapy. Dora Kalff who was a Jungian therapist was one of the pioneers of this concept. The sand tray should ideally be 28-1/2 inches in length x 19-1/2 inches wide and 3 inches deep. The inside of the tray is light blue to represent water and the sub-conscious/psyche. Based on Jungian theory, the psyche has the ability to heal itself by bringing up emotions from the unconscious/subconscious. Sandplay therapy is a valuable and powerful medium for both children and adults alike to facilitate healing and recovery.

Beautiful words. Therapists are human too and go through things like everyone else. Acceptance of our own strengths, capabilities and vulnerabilities is what makes us grow as individuals. This is what further helps our client’s process. We should embrace our humanness. X
Children and young people will often express their feelings in the form of a behaviour or an unmet need. Behaviours often try to tell us something which cannot be verbalised due to their cognition, vocabulary or understanding. We should aim to look beyond their behaviours to see what they are experiencing and feeling in their inner world.

Yes there is no timeline for the way you feel and when you should feel. Your emotions are unique to you and are valid at anytime. This is why we cannot really place stages as such when it comes to emotions and feelings as it will differ from person to person and this is okay.
In light of current the situation we are experiencing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19). There will be a mix of feelings and emotions we will be experiencing.
