FINALLY completed my Lyra dress after attending the 6 week dressmaking course and big help from my lovely friend ❤️ I played it quite safe with the fabric choice but I think it’s the first thing I’ve made which I will actually wear 👗 🧵 🪡 💓 💓 💓

8 pairs of holding hearts made for Blue Skies Hospital Trust. The lovely nurses at The Vic put some of these in my dad’s hands when he fell asleep. One stayed with my dad and the other we brought home for Nancy to put inside her memory bear. I know these little hearts brought a lot of comfort to my family and I and it’s nice to have had the chance to pay it back ❤️❤️

Mini Madison learned how to insert a zip today and made this fabulous pencil case. Big thanks to the wonderful Lucy and Jo at The Sewing Institute for their patience and support 👍🏻

First visit to the new studio. Attempting my most complex dressmaking project yet 😬 but I’ve chosen the sewing machine with the same name as my grandma, who was an amazing sewing, in the hopes that I can channel her skills 🤣 🙏🏻 ❤️ 🧵 🪡

Handmade coffee sleeve for my daughter’s teacher. As always, it’s not perfect but it was made with love ❤️

Finally got round to making this advent bunting using a kit I purchased from the Sewing Institute last year 🙈 I thought I was being so careful with my pattern and it’s going to bug me every time I see it 🤣

My first ever patchwork quilt. I made the topper earlier this year and had intended to make it into a sensory/fidget quilt for my lovely grandma who had Alzheimer’s. Sadly, she passed away before I had time to finish it 😢 I left it for a long time as looking at it made me sad, but I’ve finally completed it and given it to Nancy to keep as a reminder of her wonderful GG. She’s sitting next to me on the couch, snuggling under it as we watch a film ❤️

My first bucket hat. First time using a walking foot to cope with this lovely but very thick camel print canvas, which I picked up at a rag market for just £1! 🐪

Today’s makes- a little zip pouch to hold my sewing accessories for when I go to workshops, and a headband made out of off- cut fabric from a dress which I had shortened. 🧵 🌻
