What is inside your cup today?
What we fill our cup with is what we spill out when life takes a tumble.
We can choose to fill our cup with negative thoughts, anger and frustration.
Or we can choose to fill our cup with gratitude, kindness, peace and resilience π€
If you would like a little help filling your cup with positivity, message or email [email protected]
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is present and future oriented.
You won't need to talk about your childhood or go over past events. Instead you'll be encouraged to think about what your preferred future looks like π€
If you're living in the past and this is something you would like to change but you're unsure how, message or email [email protected]
Take care of yourself first π€
Do you ever feel guilty taking time out for yourself?
Being a mum I have often felt guilty for enjoying some 'me' time, until I realised the more I have in my cup the more I have to share with others.
If you struggle to fill your own cup first and this is something you would like a little help with, message or email [email protected]
By changing our mindset we can live a happier and more fulfilled life π€
It's not always easy to just let go of the things that don't serve us π€
At some point most of us have probably worried about a situation that hasn't even happened, where we have imagined an unfavourable outcome in our mind so we can be prepared for the worst (hello survival)
Unfortunately, these survival methods can lead to sleepless nights, anxiety and generally not feeling or performing our best.
If you have some things you would like a little help letting go of, email [email protected]
We know we can't control external factors such as other people, nature or the past, but there are some things that are within our control and by focusing on these things can help us to live a happier life π€
Why choose Solution Focused Therapy?
There are many benefits to using Solution Focused Therapy. Not only can it help with a variety of issues such as anxiety, self esteem and weight management, it also has many other strengths π€
Have you ever noticed it's easier to remember the negative things in life rather than the moments that made us feel happy?
That's because our brain is hardwired for survival, not happiness.
Back in the caveman days we needed this primal instinct to remain alert and outrun wild animals. We no longer need to do this yet the primitive part of our brain hasn't evolved with modern society.
The good news is we can rewire our brain to a more happy and positive state.
If you find you're often on high alert, thinking of the negatives in life and imagining all the things that could go wrong and this is something you would like to change, email [email protected] for a consultation.
Hypnosis myths
There are some common myths about hypnosis which can leave people feeling uncertain about being hypnotised.
I've been asked if I can make people quack like a duck or if I'm using voodoo. The answer is no because I can't make anyone do anything they donβt want to do.
Hypnosis is a natural relaxed state which we enter many times throughout the day. When we drive in autopilot we are in trance like state, yet we're fully aware of our surroundings and our actions.
There's no voodoo or magic involved with hypnosis, it's a deeply relaxed state of mind where positive thoughts and suggestions can be used to make the changes you want to see happen.

If you're not feeling your best today, write down what has been good recently and notice how much happier you feel π
It could be a nice meal you've recently cooked, recognition in your job at work, a task you've completed, a spring clean of your home, coffee with a friend or maybe you've enjoyed listening to your favourite music.
Sometimes the small things can mean the most π€
Hypnosis can bypass the critical conscious mind, new ideas and positive beliefs suggested can lead to long and lasting changes.
Did you know that online hypnotherapy sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions and have many other benefits?
Convenience β
οΈ No need to travel or look for parking, saving you time to fit other activities into your schedule and is less stress.
Comfort β
οΈ Some people may feel more relaxed and comfortable having hypnotherapy sessions in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, which can be beneficial for being more receptive to hypnosis.
Accessibility β

What we choose to focus our thoughts on will grow πΈ
Focusing on what makes us feel happy in life will encourage us to do more of the things that makes us feel happy.
Focusing on our fears and everything that might go wrong will only create our very own prison.
A positivity potion to remind us we all have the power to create our own happiness π€
Today is world mental health day. I hope everyone gets the chance to do something that makes you feel your best. Here are some things that can help with our mental wellbeing π
π§ Keep hydrated π§
Drinking plenty of water can reduce the risk of depression and anxiety. Even mild dehydration takes its toll on our bodies. Did you know that losing just 1% of body mass which can happen as part of everyday life, can lead to a dip in mood and increased anxiety.
β€ Exercise β€
Physical exercise plays an important role in mental wellbeing and can help to relieve symptoms such as depression and anxiety. Exercise decreases sensitivity to the body's reaction to anxiety and helps to promote the growth of new neurons in key areas of the brain, including the hippocampus.
π Nature π
Spending time outdoors amongst nature can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing. Nature has a calming enchanted effect, walking in the woodlands, breathing in the fresh air, sitting on a rock watching the rivers gently flow or reading your favourite book will help to reduce feelings of stress, anger and improve your physical health. You may even make new connections.
πββοΈ Self love πββοΈ
Do something nice for yourself, simple relaxation techniques such as massage, meditation and yoga can help to ease stress and anxiety.
Have a beautiful day everyone π
It's not what we carry that feels heavy, it's how long we carry it π€
If you have a problem that's starting to feel too heavy and you want to find a solution, email [email protected] and find out how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help you.
Believe in yourself and anything is possible π€
We all have that fire in our belly that we can use to reach our full potential, yet we often ignore the yearning of going for what it is that we really want in life, but why?
Over years we've created negative beliefs and behaviours that teach us to not feel good enough, brave enough, worthy enough of enjoying a happy and fulfilling life. Sometimes we live a life that other people want us to live without asking ourselves what it is that we really want.
If we learn to accept ourselves for who we are, forgive ourselves for the past, be vulnerable and curious for the future, then we will have a greater understanding of how to make ourselves truly happy.
If you're ready to come home but the journey ahead looks difficult and you would like a little help, email [email protected] for a consultation.
Remember to hit the pause button when you feel drained π€
You'll feel more focused and be able to complete tasks more effectively π
β
Switch off from work during breaks
β
Read a book
β
Listen to music
β
Try some breathing exercises
What has been good about your day?
We often think about the things that may have annoyed us or upset us throughout the day, playing it over in our minds causing us to feel annoyed again.
However, If we focus our thoughts on all the things that did go well, what made us smile and laugh, then we will feel the same happiness that we felt in that moment π€
What are you grateful for today?
I'll share what I am grateful for, my delicious honey cup of tea π―β
Learning to be grateful for the small things, the big things and everything in-between can help us to live a happy and fulfilling life π€
If we think about what is wrong in life then we will feel like something is missing.
Love what you already have, maybe spend a couple of minutes each morning thinking about what you are grateful for and see what a positive difference it makes to your day β¨
It's fairly common to feel afraid of Spiders πΈ
Often the fear can be managed using coping strategies such as staying away from places we know spiders are likely to be.
However, for some people the fear they experience is so intense that it creates symptoms such as panic, palpitations or shortness of breath.
When we experience these symptoms it's a good indication we're not just fearful of spiders, we have a phobia of spiders also known as Arachnophobia.
With Arachnophobia our brain perceives the spider to be a threat to our survival.
If you think you have a phobia of spiders and this is something you would like to work on, please message or email [email protected] for a consultation.
Dopamine is one of many of our feel good chemicals and is responsible for feelings of pleasure, motivation and reward π
One of my previous post describes the link between Dopamine and comfort eating, so here are some healthier ways we can boost our dopamine levels?
π€ Exercise
π€ Learn something new
π€ Listen to music you enjoy
π€ Finish a book you have started
π€ Meditation
Occasionally a person may notice some improvements immediately, other people will start to notice a difference after a couple of sessions.
Everyone's journey is unique to them and the time taken to notice the changes can depend on other factors, such as what the person is working on, how much a person wants change to happen and how committed they are to their sessions.
To move forward, big changes begin with a small step in the right direction. To book your consultation, DM or email [email protected]
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is an effective tool to help us manage our weight by changing unwanted behaviours and patterns.
When we're feeling overly stressed, not sleeping enough or feeling dissatisfied with life in general, we produce an excess of cortisol which is our stress hormone. Cortisol depletes our feel good chemicals such as serotonin and dopamine and stimulates hunger.
Food is one way to increase our dopamine levels, however, it's not always the healthiest way especially when we are craving high fat and sugary foods. Hello weight gain π
When we eat food, we get a big surge of dopamine which then encourages us to eat even more to continue feeling good. This creates a behaviour pattern within the brain that associates overeating/snacking with stress relief π§
There are much healthier ways to increase our dopamine levels such as exercise, however, if we're experiencing stress and low mood then quite often our motivation plummets, and instead of exercise, overeating becomes the habit.
If you are interested in a more holistic approach to weight management, DM or email [email protected] to book your consultation.
We all possess the power to make the positive changes in our life π
Oftentimes we hold ourselves back through fear, self doubt and thoughts of everything that might go wrong.
Hypnotherapy can help to change those unwanted thoughts and behaviours, so we feel empowered to reach for what it is that we really want β¨
If fear, self doubt or negative thoughts are preventing you from using your key to change your story, DM or email [email protected]
What is Trypanophobia?
It's a specific phobia to medical needles.
Needle phobia is thought to affect atleast 1 in 10 people and can result in delayed necessary medical care.
What causes Trypanophobia?
There's no definite known cause, however, we do know that specific phobias can be a learned behaviour or they can be linked to past events.
Can hypnotherapy help?
Hypnotherapy is an excellent tool and can help us to change unwanted thoughts and behaviours.
I use a technique called Rewind and Reframe. This technique removes the fear associated with the phobia and creates a new template for your brain to pattern match to on future occasions.
If you experience fear and panic at the thought of going to have an injection or blood taken and this is something you would like a little help with, please message or email [email protected]
April - Stress Awareness Month π€
Many aspects of life can cause us to experience stress, such as work, relationships, finances, family and the economy.
Some stress can even be beneficial as we can use it to motivate ourselves and help towards reaching our goals. In some situations stress may even help to save our life.
However, too much stress on a regular basis can be debilitating and have negative effects on our health and wellbeing.
The symptoms associated with too much stress can include dizziness, stomach upset, insomnia, restlessness, palpitations, hot and cold flushes, skin sensations such as burning, numb or tingling and more.
It is well documented that too much stress in our day to day lives can make us more susceptible to high blood pressure and heart disease, insomnia, headaches, lowered immune system, IBS and other digestive problems.
Sometimes we turn to using unhealthy coping mechanisms to try and reduce our stress levels such as smoking, recreational drugs, alcohol consumption and comfort eating. Unfortunately, this often exasperates stress and creates additional health problems along the way.
We can't always prevent stressful events happening in our life, however, we can learn to manage stress more effectively by adopting healthy coping strategies such as,
β€οΈ regular exercise
β€οΈ stopping smoking
β€οΈ meditation
β€οΈ self care
β€οΈ healthy balanced diet
β€οΈ reduced alcohol consumption
β€οΈ regular sleeping pattern

I was discussing with my daughter the other day about the importance of being kind, providing our kindness doesn't cause a detriment to our own health and wellbeing.
My daughter responded with an excellent reason why it's good to be kind whilst also being kind to ourselves and our own wants and needs. You can read this below.
If you find that you often put others before your own needs or you feel the need to people please and this is something you would like to change, you can DM or email [email protected] to arrange a consultation.
