TUMMY TIME... ⌚

I know from experience that not all babies like being on their tummies. My own little girl used to cry every time I lay her on her front. Cue the mum guilt!! ⁠😓

✨ Have you ever been frustrated that your baby doesn't enjoy tummy time too? ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠

Think about it like this...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
🙈 I haven't been to the gym in a while haha🤣 . If someone made me to do a full body HIIT workout I would be exhausted and ache from head to toe; this is what it feels like at first for your newborn baby!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
🕰 When we, as adults, are strengthening our muscles we do it gradually over time. Try doing the same with your little one.

Here are some tips to help:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
🧸Try popping baby on his/her front for a short while after each nappy change through the day. It might only be for 1 minute and that's ok!

🤩 A rolled up a towel under baby's arms and a toy in reaching distance may help.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
😊 Try not to let your baby become upset during tummy time; the less negative associations your baby has with tummy time the better.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠

👀 Get down to baby's eye level so he/she can see your smile for some reassurance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠

💜 Tummy time doesn't have to be on the floor! At our classes we teach you how to hold your little one safely on their fronts. For example in our Flying Babies activity - Try it for yourself by listening to 'Flying babies' on all major streaming platforms.

SIBLINGS: we are happy to allow older siblings at these classes but all children must be able to sit on your mat with you at all times. TIA x

Each of our Caterpillar club 🐛 classes include a range of baby yoga moves to our songs 'The gift', 'Cycle with me' and 'Now we're flying' which each help your baby’s physical development. ⁠💜💚

Babies love this time in class which gives their whole bodies an exercise. We move baby's body to the music in order to increase muscle tone, strength and flexibility as well as open up the pelvis as well as pushing out any trapped wind 😍💨⁠

It is also a lovely opportunity to bond with your baby too 💓💞

IT'S OK TO FEEL THIS WAY! 💜💚

A little remainder that feeling overwhelmed is completely normal whether it's your first baby or your forth. 💜🥰

Having a baby is all consuming - the good the bad and the ugly and you know it's GOOD to talk about it and be honest. 💚

With shared parental leave on the rise and lots more dads attending with their babies, it was refreshing to hear a dad feel the same. 🌍

I admired his honesty and the mums sat around him REALLY did. 💚

The times are changing and we embrace that - everyone deserves the same support. 🥰

MAYBE NOT YET... 🤣

IT'S OK TO ASK FOR HELP 💗

I'm going to break it to you... being perfect or a supermum is IMPOSSIBLE. It's humanly impossible to do everything. 🦹‍♀️

Whether it's reaching out for support with housework or childcare or perhaps you are suffering with your mental health... 💗

Honestly... happiness is behind asking for help and not taking on the mountains yourself. 🏔️
