A mom sees her child playing video games instead of doing his homework. She tells him, "If you don't do your homework, you can't play your games anymore!"

She takes away his gaming console and later finds that he STILL hasn't done his homework.

She wonders: why isn't this punishment working?

The truth is... punishment isn't helping motivate your child!

In fact, it's teaching them that homework completion is more of a priority than learning.

children won't make an effort on their homework. Plus, some learn to lie about getting it done!

Our tip to making sure they're Focused, Disciplined, and Learning is...

Reward their efforts instead of the outcome.

1. Break up their work into small, manageable chunks.

2. As they complete each chunk, check in and talk about each section.

3. Reward them! It doesn't need to be candy or video games-- play their favourite song, watch a silly video together, or give them words of encouragement!

4. Schedule breaks to give their brain a rest. They might even need some physical movement to rid their excess energy and focus better!

children crave fun and stimulation.

When homework is piled high, and video games are way more exciting, they need someone to help them focus.

You can help your child finish their tasks (and make their videogame time so much sweeter)!

Transform a chore into a fun routine, helping not just with homework, but with life's challenges too.

Learning should be fun and we are totally child focused and child centred.

Beginners classes are limited to a maximum of 12 students.

We are closed for our Summer Break. Next class Sunday 27th August 2023.

We are open after this till Christmas including school holidays.

Parents, here a quick question...

If someone said to you, “Stop what you're doing right now and go to the shop!” — Would you feel empowered?

If you answered ‘No’, then you value autonomy.

Demands do not give us much choice, as we are forced to obey… which isn't very empowering.

Children have the same emotional response as us in those situations! They have trouble respecting authority when they do not feel empowered. It’s completely natural for children to test our authority since they are learning about boundaries.

We hear about this common parent-child struggle all the time!

Our solution? and the smart way is to: Give Your Child Choices.

For example: Instead of telling your child, “Time to brush your teeth and go to bed!” Say, “It’s time for bed! What would you like to do first? Shower, Brush Your Teeth, or Choose Your Pajamas?”

This way, you are assigning the task, whislt respecting their autonomy. Your chilld be so glad to choose their tasks, and you willl be relieved that you don't have to ask them a million times!
