For this kind of stuff I have average to poor genetics but have a very disciplined mind. Was it worth it? Yes because of what you learn about yourself and the process of dieting. Long term unless you are involved in the fitness sector it's not necessary. I enjoy Ben and Jerry's to much 🍦

New video now up..
7 WAYS TO STAY FIT DURING LOCKDOWN Given the current COVID-19 pandemic I talk about ways in which you can stay fit and healthy including diet tips and training during not being able to go to t...
Should you train when you are tired? Yesterday I forced myself to go to the gym when I could have quite easily have gone to bed. Here is what I found:
-
⚡ Overtime with training you will learn to listen and understand your body. You can push it some days but other days you'll need to stop.
-
⚡Training when tired can be actually detrimental to progress
-
⚡Sleep is one of the key underlying components of growth and progress although often gets neglected.
-
⚡ If you know you will be tired go in the day time not the evening.
-
The last month has been an incredibly surreal time I am sure you will all agree. From jumping in the deep end of marathon training to everything being cancelled it is easy to got lost in our own self-isolation bubble especially if we aren't working. Tomorrow I'm going to write down and do some planning on personal and work goals in coming months although Kim and I are expecting in the next 10 days so we might not be doing a great deal other than changing nappies.
-
⚡ Stay active daily
-
⚡ Talk to friends and family thought video or voice call
-
⚡ Keep days structured where you can either in your head or on paper/phone
-
Look after each other and stay safe ♥.
Got a picture this cool? 😎. Go ahead tag me 😁. What I would give to be able to go out on my bike now.
-
⚡ This is my cbr600RR. It was the second Honda I had and a beautiful machine.
⚡Circa 2012 at a guess??
As we are all trapped at 🏡 there is a risk we eat more and exercise less and get fat.
-
Here are my tips to help.
-
⚡ Aim for at least 6000 steps a day no negotaiton. We all know the benefits of exercise.
-
⚡ Time restrict your eating. Either don't eat until 10 am or stop at 6pm. Aim for 12 hrs on 12 hrs off.
-
⚡ Give yourself a snack or treat per day (no more than 250 calories ish). Don't take this p**s and have 10 of them.
-
Do the basics right to stay on track.
Really simple but effective warm for the whole body.
-
⚡1 minute skipping
⚡1 min boxing (shadow box if no punch bag)
-
Perform 5 sets and you'll be good warm. Get going 💥
Day 10 self-isolation 🤪
Full 📹 explaining. So the Bolton Marathon as is everything else is cancelled/postponed. I will still be doing some marathon training and doing a full marathon when things return to normal, whatever that is.
-
🙏🏼Thanks to those that have sponsored me so far I will honour what I said
-
🏃🏻 I'll continue training but not as intense as it could be October or later if it returns and I don't want to get injured.
-
⚡If Bolton doesn't go ahead I'll do another marathon.
-
Thanks for all the support so far.
PREPARING THE HOME GYM FOR TRAINING AT HOME | MARATHON UPDATE With the recent lockdown I've focused on switching my training back to some form of resistance training and discuss the plans for the Bolton Marathon and how...
How is everybody doing who is self isolating or on lock down doing? I've been indoors now effectively for the best part of 2 weeks as Kim is pregnant. I've been for an hour exercise most days and working during the day and spending time with family in the evenings.
-
This is what I learned so far:
-
⚡Slowing down the pace of life can be an amazing thing. I've spent more time with my family and playing with Theo than ever before. Whilst his energy is relentess I'll remember these moments for the rest of my life.
-
⚡We've been going through food quick time. It's been difficult getting to the end of the week with basic things and family have helped out going to shops for us. We've been grateful for this.
-
⚡I've been moving less in the day and eating more so getting in exercise has been vital to stay physically and mentally healthy.
-
⚡Having kids at 🏡 whilst 2 of you working isn't a long term solution
-
⚡I spend/waste money on endless amounts of crap normally I realised
-
⚡I'm very fortunate for what I have
-
⚡My social media and news consumption is off the charts at the minute 😮
Happy 5th wedding anniversary . Probably the weirdest one locked in the house together we've had but thanks for another year ♥ xx
Self-isolating in the home gym
I really worry about us a society sometimes 🤦🏻♂️. Stay safe people. Are people just being ignorant of the danger or do they genuinely not care? Impossible to say.

Be kind 🙏🏼
Happy Mothers Day to such an amazing mum. Theo loves you very much 👩🏼 🧒🏼
With self-isolation and the Bolton Marathon postponed only 1 thing to do. Get the home gym sorted ✅. Job done.
New artwork for little man's room. Impossible to get a picture with Theo... Opposite of his dad 😂. 4 weeks to go 🤱🏼
Remember that whatever is going on YOUR health is number one priority. If you can look after yourself you can't look after others.
I've been away for a while with no updates. Is the Bolton Marathon going ahead. Is it not? Who knows right now. I've been carrying on as planned however last week I got a bad injury on my calf and it's stopped me running completely hence no update. I was 8 miles into a 17 mile run and had to walk back as I had no phone and could barley walk. I went to physio and have done 4 miles today walking and slow pace. Full YouTube video inbound later.

It's absolutely gutting when you can't do what you love to do. In between being ill about 4 weeks and this it seems the straight road to glory is a always one with bumps, turns and diversions.
***
I will preserve on. It's 9 weeks out an I will achieve what I set out to do.
I used Hello Fresh to prepare my meals for a week to completed a review of the quality, convenience and price.

Sponsor link in my Bio. To all my friends &followers! I know it seems like every other day someone is asking for money for this race or that however....please give generously. Read my story below:
In 2007 I raised £2126.00 for charity running a half marathon at the BUPA Great North Run. The challenge was a way of marking my recovery from a serious illness in 2006 and I surpassed both my target and my time. After the race I always wanted to do something bigger and better along with raising more money for a good cause. After applying for the London Marathon through the ballot a couple of times I was unsuccessful. I saw an opportunity to run the Bolton Marathon. It was the first time in over 30 years the marathon was being hosted in Bolton. Along with being one of the most environmentally friendly races being host in the UK it was a local marathon that enabled me to both challenge myself and raise money for a local cause. Having done voluntary work at the hospice a number of years ago I was touched by the kindness and sense of care and community the hospice provide to a wide range of patients in Bolton.
Hospices provide essential care for communities in supporting some of the hardest battles many of us can endure. I have chosen to put my body through a tough and demanding challenge and achieve a marathon time of less than 4 hrs. This is going to take a lot of discipline and hard work but really nothing compared to the heart and strength of character a lot of patients face day to day. The fundraising done for the hospice is vital in being able to provide the services and care patients need daily. To find out more about the work the hospice does please visit the website
https://www.boltonhospice.org.uk/
TARGET: I have an ambitious target and wish to surpass my 2007 fundraising goal and have therefore set a figure of £2127.00. If I reach this target my business will contribute an extra £500.00 to Bolton Hospice.
Week 06 and 14 miles in now. Hitting some big miles next week. Had to get some gear this week and it always costs more than you think. A long way to go and 13 weeks left.
To think I had never drunk coffee ☕ before 2020 is funny. I used to get s**t from the lads for drinking hot chocolate 🍫 haha. Addicted to coffee now 😂
Passion vs practical.
Episode 5 now up. Full video in comments....nearly one full month of training and its coming along but it ain't easy.
With all their negatives our mobile phones can have they sometimes in life allow you to capture a moment of pure 😍.
Theo was thrilled to be riding up front while getting the car cleaned.
