The Old Rectory Care Home

Yesterday some of the staff at the old rectory attended, fire warden training. This was very informative and we got to set fire extinguishers off.

We’ve had the best summer party 🥳 bbq, an amazing magician, hook a duck, raffle, music by our resident dj. Thank you all for joining us 😀

Stickney committee kindly wanted to do something positive and inclusive for our residents. Sunday we had ponies visit which the committee funded. We all had great time and the ponies are so well looked after

Yesterday we had some retail therapy 😊today we have been chocolate tasting

Over the past week we’ve been watching the chicks hatch and grow. Lots of reminiscing stories of how residents had Chickens throughout their lives 🐣🐥

Finally we had sunshine 🌞 only one thing to do go to the seaside. We enjoyed, fish and chips followed by Ice cream 🍦

The local brownies came to us yesterday. They sang with us so they could earn one of their badges. It was great to see them

The weekend was full of sunshine 🌞 planting and walks round the village

Wednesday was a great day venturing around the heavy horse centre, followed by lunch out

Last week we took advantage of the sun coming out. We sat and had a natter and brew in the garden 🪴

Friday afternoon it’s been wet and gloomy outside, but full of fun and laughter inside the old rectory. It’s been quiz time

Our residents did amazing, in their hand eye co ordination spinning plates and shooting hoops is a lot trickier than it looks 👍

We had an impromptu trip out yesterday. Down to our amazing bus driver Nige who had a cancellation, so we did the only thing we could and take him up on the opportunity to get out and about 😊we took a flask of tea and biscuits went to see the sea at Huttoft and nipped to Boston in the afternoon.

These are a few entries to the Easter colouring competition we opened to stickney primary school. There was so many I couldn’t fit them all on. The residents judged who they thought were best coloured. The winners received an Easter egg prizes. It was tough to decide, we loved to see them

We all had a fabulous afternoon when the ukulele band came to visit

Anyone visiting today the main entrance is closed due to road works. Should be able to access after 3pm.

Sunday has been a day of walks in the sunshine, a visit to the church, a spot of gardening and a movie

Saturday some residents had a flutter on the horses with a big win of £7.90.
Later on was time to relax try their hand at knitting 🧶

Thank you to all who bought raffle tickets at the Easter party.
We raised £210 for our residents activity funds

The residents had the opportunity to join Easter communion when revered Judith visited the home on Tuesday
