💘💅🏻Builder gel with tips, my clients nails were quite short so getting the square shape would’ve been difficult, so we added tips, over time her nails will grow longer and with infill appointments the tips will eventually be filed off leaving her natural nail length! 📍Cumbria, St Bees

Let’s talk about the Journey⬇️
What’s that saying? ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ It’s the same with lips!
We scroll through instagram and we see these amazing lips, but what we don’t usually see is the process, the amount of sessions someone’s had to achieve it!
Set your end goal! ⚽️

⚠️ Positive Aspiration ⚠️ Kia Talks:
Is aspiration a fully reliable source? No, let’s talk:
What is a positive aspiration? Aspiration takes place when your practitioner pulls back on the plunger of the syringe, this creates a “vacuum” effect. If blood enters the syringe, this means we are in a vessel and should not inject. No harm is caused by this and we would simply change our needle and move to a different area.
Why do we carry out safety checks? To prevent filler entering an artery or blood vessel when we inject. It’s important when treating certain areas, your practitioner carries out their safety checks!
However, on the flip side⤵️
Aspirating doesn’t have 100% accuracy. Way too many injectors rely on aspiration and not their knowledge of depth and anatomy and say “I aspirated so there can’t be any complications” Your injector needs to be aware of their depth and extremely knowledgable about the facial anatomy to be carrying out these treatments. Aspiration is not something to fully rely on when Injecting. However it’s great to use hand in hand with depth checks and good understand of anatomy.
Ok, Let’s focus on the POSITIVE about positive aspirations✅
You may see this photo and think it’s scary or something has gone wrong, however, this photo shows that the practitioner handles your treatments with caution and consideration!
I very rarely get to see positive aspirations at work, however some clients anatomy and placement of their arteries are more superficial than others, it’s a great reminder that along with my knowledge, I’m doing my job safely😊

Have you ever considered getting Russian lips? Russian lip 101:
Pro’s
• Flat side profile (No duck lips over here)
• The natural lip shape can be manipulated and lifted to a better shape
Things to bare in mind:
• Russian lips are prone to more swelling and bruising because there are more injection points.
• Russian lips take slightly longer to create than standard lip filler, making the pain more difficult to endure - make sure you have a good pain tolerance (not to worry we have great numbing cream!😉)

If you’ve followed me from the beginning, you might remember the name Customs By K, when I was 18 I started a small business creating custom designs on shoes, I remember having 1 or 2 customers at first and then it picked up, I had so many boxes of airforces stacked up ready to customise for clients! I had customers that I’ve know/known of from years back at school or around my area buying shoes from me and it was the best feeling ever. When lockdown happened I was furloughed at my full time job and decided to learn how to do nails, once I qualified I quit my full time job took a risk and rented a chair and started doing nails full time in a salon, then we went into lockdown again! Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day were round the corner so I decided to make chocolate covered strawberries and bouquets… and I was so busy! I remember selling a box of strawberries to my dance teacher from when I was little, who I looked up to so much and she left me a note saying she was proud of me and I’ll never forget that. Once lockdown was over I took another leap leaving the salon to rent a room of my own in Verwood to do nails in, that room is still so close to my heart as it’s the first place I rented myself and truly made my own! I knew there was something else for me in the pipeline, so I took my course in aesthetics. I then moved again to where I am today into my Clinic room closer to Bournemouth. Yesterday I had a client come to me for Russian lips, who supported me from way back, buying my strawberries for Mother’s Day, came to me to get my nails done and now aesthetics. And it really made me think of how unbelievably grateful I am for each and every one of you who’s supported me wether that’s from when you knew me as Kia from school, dance class, Customs by K or now K Aesthetics! I have a screen shot of this instagram account when I first made it, with only 100 or something and now we’re at 2000+ I’m no where near where I aspire to be, but to look back at where it all began is a truly rewarding feeling! If you read this till the end thankyou and I hope you’ve got to know me a bit more from this! Merry Christmas and here’s to the future! 🎄❤️

Fordyce Spots 👄
What are they?
Fordyce spots are enlarged, slightly raised sebaceous oil glands that appear in hairless areas of your skin. They commonly appear around the edges of your lips (vermillion border) and inside of your cheeks. They’re very common as they can occur in up to 70-80% of adults! Fordyce spots are completely normal and can become more visible after lip fillers.
Interesting fact - I have them myself! They’re much more pronounced after I have lip filler.
