First of all, thank you to my British family at FTY Academy and FTY Lab for all the messages, there is only one thing over football, it’s love.

I would like to put some words together with my personal opinion, as I hear lot of criticism to England National Team, manager, etc…

In my opinion, the key issue is on the base, on the youth football… I think it is TOO SIMPLE and EASY to become a coach in the UK (yes, FA level), after that, it is all down to the ethos of the “brand new coach”. Grassroots football meant to be non competitive football, lovely theory, however, I am not sure that the goal is reached…

Comparing different setups, I can tell how good England is at developing individual talents (Palmer, Bellingham, Saka, Foden and a limitless list) but, I can’t recognize a style or way to play, a method, a pathway or progression since you start until you become an adult… you can see that in Germany, Holland, Italy, of course in Spain and other countries.

The game is more complex than dribbling, 1v1s, ball mastery or the 4 corners the FA talks about… the game involves the decision making, awareness, team mindset, Psicology, and understand that the quickest element on the pitch, is the ball, no the player. It involves tactical side (from the beginning), and a whole process where the score is not important, it will be when all these skills and more are interiorized.

You can’t start a house from the top, and until the FA does not change the base and basics, the journey will be tougher.

I met great coaches around the area who understand this and try to change the whole game! From my position, thank you for your support and I will try to add my bit of help!

It will come home! We will see it soon amigos! (Hopefully someone like Eddie Howe will come soon…) at the meantime… let’s keep training!

We are thrilled to announce that we have been provisionally accepted into the JPL.

Our partnership with Poole Town will establish the first-ever Poole Town FC Wessex FTY team in the U13 age group.

This marks the beginning of a strong football pathway in the local area, enabling players to receive professional training from U8 until they compete on Saturdays as U13s.

We are now holding trials for this age group. If you are interested, please contact [email protected].

Vamos Academy news

We would like to thank you for the HUGE support received on our Saturday sessions. Both coaches left all of their energy on the pitch with the aim of developing the footballers who attended the session.

After all the positive feedback, we would like to comeback to you with some news!

*VAMOS ACADEMY UEFA SESSIONS* will be happening again for the remainder of 2024.

Sessions will be taking place as followed:

Saturdays at Sir David English Pitch 1:
11am - U8s to U10s
12pm - U10s to U13s

Next block of 6 sessions will be:

27th July

We will have a break during April as we understand that there is so much going on and half term is on the way.
