Perfection! But what causes paleness?

Our beautiful client came in for her lip filler treatment and left with a beautiful perfect pout. She was an absolute super star. Being relaxed, calm and super numb makes for such a much more enjoyable filler experience!

We chatted about lip paleness and what causes it. You may find after numbing your lips, they have white patches or look pale for a short while. This is due to the numbing agent, lidocaine or prilocaine or similar. It shrinks the blood vessels and this is what can cause the pale appearance. Once the numbing effects wear off, you can expect your lip colour to come back to its original colour.

Under the totally supervision and watchful eye of our aesthetics practitioner and trainer Rachel, our student created some stunning results over the weekend!

Our client wanted to rejuvenate her mid face. We opted to add volume to her apples and create a slight co tour to the cheek bones.

As we hit our late 20’s the area underneath our tear trough, affectionately referred to as the “apples” are often the area to diminish in volume first. This can leave a sunken look and is a tell tale sign of aging.
By replenishing this area, it gives an incredible lift and adds volume to turn back the clock!
Filling this area is also beneficial for people where nasolabial folds are a concern (nose to mouth lines) as it creates a lift to soften these lines.

Creating the perfect Russian pout isn’t just about following a big standard pattern. It’s assessing the clients lips, asymmetry points, lack of volume points, excessive volume points to create a harmonious, symmetrical well balanced Russian lip.

One size most definitely does not fit all!

Russian lips are a unique technique of carefully placed lip filler. Lips are heightened rather than protruding. The bottom lip is flatter and round. Less risk of migration and a beautifully rounded “Russian doll” lip look.
Also perfect for those with a gummy smile too! Russian lip can hide the gum line when executed correctly!

Our client came to us not having had her cheeks filled for a couple of years elsewhere.
She wanted to replenish lost volume in her cheeks to promote a youthful, lifted look. Have some definition and also rebalance as the cheeks where slightly asymmetrical.

We applied dermal filler mostly into the apples of her cheeks. This crested an instant lift, also lifting the nadolabial folds (nose to mouth lines) and then contoured along the cheek bone and create more symmetry.

We always advise a 2 week healing period. In this time swelling comes right down and filler softens and settles.

What are Russian lips? How do@they differ from standard style lips?

Russian lips take practice practice practice and training from the best. We are lucky here to have trained with the fabulous .bernot a couple of years back.

Russian lips are a flatter profile. They have an emphasis on height and the bottom lip is more rounded centrally. It creates a real gorgeous sweetheart shape. Russian is also great for people who have difficulty getting the sides of the lips to stay full or to POP. The Russian method helps to lift the sides and keep them popped!

A standard lip will be tailored to your needs and requirements. There is often more protrusion and plumpness as opposed to flatness.

Russian lips are best performed on lips with zero to very minimal filler for beat results.
