What a fantastic Rocksteady launch day here at St. Luke’s; the sound of rock filled our school! Children learnt about a range of rock band instruments and enjoyed singing and playing during Rocksteady workshops. 🥁🎹🎸
An enjoyable morning listening to music. Thank you to children in Year 4, 5 and 6 for playing and singing and showing us what you have learnt this term! 🎶🥁

In true British spirit, Year 1 didn’t let the weather beat them yesterday and enjoyed a fantastic trip to Bournemouth visiting the beach and . Look at those sandcastles!🏖🐚 🐠

A joy to see Sway Carnival conclude with the carnival procession. Congratulations to our Carnival Prince and Princess who looked wonderful!
Year 5 have been on a trip to develop their understanding of rivers! They started at the source, and walked along the river taking measurements of the velocity of the water, the river depth and exploring what lives inside.
Year 6 have been designing posters to reflect their interpretation of how the Gospels might guide someone’s life.
Year R have been learning about changes in the natural world around them, focusing on the seasons. We have been reading a range of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books throughout the year, learning about the differences between the four seasons.
Last week, Year 5 explored the ‘Stations of the Cross’ when learning about Christian beliefs in relation to sacrifice and salvation.
Year 1 are learning about important people in Christianity. They have made Bishop’s mitres decorated with holy symbols.
Year 4 had a great day learning about life in Viking and Anglo-Saxon times. They experienced blacksmithing, weaving and tanning.
Great to join other schools from across the Diocese today! Marking an important milestone; thank you for organising a wonderful Y6 service for children today!
Year R have been exploring clay and making marks in their clay starfish.
Year 6 performed ‘Rock Bottom’ brilliantly in front of their very first external audience today. Friends and family were absolutely blown away by their incredible talent. What a wonderful show you gave us Year 6 - ‘break a leg’ tomorrow too!
Congratulations to both our cricket and athletics teams who have recently competed in events!

Year 6 have been comparing daffodils to create their own classification key.
This year’s theme for the Leaver’s Service is “Gamechangers”. As part of this, Year 6 have been creating their own statues in the style of Anthony Gormley to be installed in the crypt .
In Science, Year 3 have been learning about ‘Rocks and Soils’. During a visit from Dr Bown and Professor Bown, who are both palaeontologists, they learnt about the work of fossil-collector Mary Anning and were lucky enough to handle a range of incredible fossils!
