Arty Crafty Events
My name is Catherine and I love crafting. As a crafter I am aware of how much we collect but then may not need! I also love attending craft fairs.
This is why I thought I’d start running my own craft events.
Hi how is everyone’s summer going? In the mix of occupying my son and working I also have had a lovely week away on a cruise on the P&O Iona to the Norwegian Fjords. I will tell you more in a few days!!
Tonight I wanted to share something else with you and something I’m sure all you cross stitch crafters will love too!
The local artist, Wendy Brown, creates amazing art work of our local area in a creative and ‘wonky’ way!! I have been a great admirer of her work for a long time and recently commented on one of her posts suggesting they would make great cross stitch kits. She messaged back telling me ‘to watch this space’!! Tonight she has just announced one of her artworks has been created into a cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads ☺️
What a fantastic achievement for Wendy and how exciting. I, for one, will be buying this kit!! Hopefully, if they sell well, Bothy Threads will commission more of her artwork. I would love to do one of her streets!!

The second picture below is Wendy’s artwork of Wimborne Minster 😍
Well done Wendy 👏🤩
I love my two hobbies 😍🤣
I love it when our destash customers share the lovely items they have made from their purchases at our destash sales. One very talented customer has recently made this gorgeous jumpsuit from fabric she bought and crochet, with paper yarn, this gorgeous bag using leather she had bought at Saturdays destash.
Thank you Bernie for letting me share photos of your lovely makes.
Have you made anything with the items you have bought at our destash sales? If so please share in the comments below. We would love to see what our unused craft supplies get turned into 😍
If
You are going to miss our monthly Destash sales then I have just come across this lovely little charity shop in Cranborne. Selling lots of lovely books they also have a gorgeous room full of haberdashery and fabric.
Lots of local walks available plus pubs providing lunches so you can make a day of it too! I will certainly be popping in there ☺️

This morning I enjoyed a relaxing macrame pod workshop with Sunny Bunny Crafts
Took a while to get my head around doing a square knot but with Suzanne’s patience I was soon off on my own doing it!!
Suzanne has another one of these workshops planned plus lots of other crafts to do so pop over to her page to find out more.
I think we can all agree with this 😉
A lovely and relaxing day in Charmouth today sea glass collecting. It was so windy when we first arrived but when the tide went out it became a beautiful day. As soon as the tide came back in the weather got colder and windier again!!
The sea air was just what I needed and so nice to spend the day with friends I hadn’t seen for a while.
Has anyone else been sea glass collecting or fossil hunting there?
Our next craft destash sale is happening in just over 2 weeks time and we are back at our Charminster venue. We are fully booked with lots of lovely sellers selling a wide range of craft supplies.
Our Charminster sales all start at 9.30am and there is plenty of free parking on site or nearby roads if needed.
Answers to questions I often get asked ☺️
What is a craft destash sale? Can I sell my handmade crafts there?
This is one of the most common questions I am asked. A craft destash sale is for crafters to sell the craft supplies they no longer need eg. Fabric, Yarn, Haberdashery, Dies, Stamps, Paper, Card, Embossing Folders etc! Our sales are not craft fairs and so handmade items are not to be sold at our events.
Do the sales have good footfall?
Yes ☺️ I ensure all sales are heavily advertised on social media, plus posters are put up in various local shops close to the venues. A banner also goes up, outside the venue, a week before the event. We are also lucky to have a number of regular customers who enjoy getting their new craft supplies from our sales.
Do you sell refreshments at your events?
Unfortunately we don’t. The events are only 2 hrs long and so we are concentrating on selling rather than providing refreshments. Our Charminster sales are close to Castlepoint and our Canford Heath sales have a lovely cafe, just round the corner, called Hub on the Heath.
If I book future events do I need to pay straight away?
No. All sales require a completed booking form to provisionally book your place but payment isn’t required until 4-6 weeks before the event.
How do I make payment?
Payment is to be made by PayPal or bank transfer. Details are in the email that is sent to you with the booking form.
Can I share a table with a friend?
Yes of course. If you don’t feel you have enough to sell on a 6ft table then sharing is very welcome.
Is parking available?
Yes, both venues have the luxury of free parking.
Are the venues wheelchair accessible?
Yes 😌
Below are some photos I took at last Saturdays sale which gives you an idea of what to expect to find at our sales. We look forward to seeing you at a sale soon ☺️
