Something you might not know about teaching online… …is that although you interact with a bunch of people across the world on a daily basis 🌍, it can also be a lonely job 😞 if you don’t have the right support. Especially if you’re someone like me who thrives off in-person interaction, communication and working in a team πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈπŸ‘―. I really sometimes miss those office chats, especially when you need that little pick me up halfway through the day β˜•οΈπŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ’ΌπŸ§‘πŸΎβ€πŸ’ΌπŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸ’ΌπŸ–‡ But, don’t worry! There is a solution, if you know where to go. The Online Teaching community is a big and friendly one πŸ—Ί and you just have to find your people / a group that are open and welcoming to support you in this journey. So where do you find other teachers? 1. Join teacher Facebook groups. i-to-i has a great group for their students and graduates and it’s an amazing place to get advice and support from fellow TEFL teachers. 2. Always opt to be part of the WhatsApp / chat groups with teachers that teach for the same school or company as you. That way someone is always just a text away and, more often than not, they have experienced something similar to you and they’re always willing to help or advise. I’ve made some great teacher friends this way! 3. Follow other TEFL teachers on Instagram, Facebook and TEFL pages. It’s a great way to connect and I love seeing content on my feed that I can relate to. #tefl #onlinetefl #teflschedule #fitteflintoyourschedule #onlineteaching #onlineenglishteaching #teflonline #onlineteflteacher #teflteacher #lovetotefl #itoitefl #livingthedream #teflandtravel #eslonline #esl #onlineesl #teachingenglish #englishteacher #workfromhome #workfromanywhere #teachenglishasaforeignlanguage #reasonstotefl
