After what has been an emotional few days, the keys have finally been handed over to Ema and her team.
Many laughs, tears and memories have been shared, many drinks have been drunk, and maybe one too many headaches for some 😵‍💫
Our time at The Shady Oak has been one of the best times in both our lives. We have made some amazing friends and met some beautiful people along the way.
We were welcomed into the community and hope we did our best for you guys. So many happy times and memories we will always treasure.
So lets raise a glass 🍺 to you all, thank you for being you! Thank you for supporting us during our time at The Shady. You have made it so special.
So many happy faces to remember, a small gathering of you all on our last night was beautiful. Pizzas and beers, hugs and tears.
Obviously there was 1 person who just had to be the last man out the door..... the first one in over 2 years ago it was only fitting he was there as the doors closed.

It has been an emotional rollercoaster but we have truly enjoyed the ride.
Tonight we welcome you all to join us as a final farewell.
A huge thank you to each and everyone of you for your support over the past couple of years.
We hope you are able to join us this evening with the amazing Jason Flint keeping us all entertained.

Little bit of good news for everyone on this damp horrible morning.
The shop has been taken over and will reopen as a Go Local. Hooray 🙏
Quite a bit of work to do to get it ready but they are hoping to be up and running in around 6 weeks.
Spread the word and watch out for updates. Support your local shop so its not lost again. This is so valuable to a lot of people around here who cant get to the bigger shops in town.
Im sure Ozzy and his team will have some fantastic opening offers for you all.

So the sad time has come to announce our departure.
Friday 20th October we will have our final farewell evening with the amazing sounds of our very own Peter Pan of Pop Jason Flint. Jason started the ball rolling over 2 years ago and only seems right that he is our final act, here at The Shady Oak
Its not all doom and gloom, in fact I dare say some of you cant wait to see the back of us lol
It has been an emotional journey, made easier by good friends and the support from all you guys. We are truly sad to be leaving, it was not an easy decision to make, but for our own sanity we feel it was the right one.
We will be here over that weekend with our doors closing for the final time on Sunday 22nd Oct, assuming there is some ale left to drink......
Some of you have already met the new landlady, and I am sure she will be popping in before we leave for a catch up with a few more of you.
We leave you in the very safe and capable hands of Ema Clarke , Alan and Mike who we know you will all make feel very welcome, as you did us from day one.
Please welcome the new team Shady and continue to support your local.

THE PUB IS STILL OPEN AS USUAL FOR ALL YOUR SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
Functions can still be catered for with advance notice.
