We loved working with our members and PureGym team to create our #RiseAboveTheNoise campaign film for #InternationalWomensDay which highlights their personal experiences of gender bias. PureGym Group Exercise Master Trainer, Harley Booth told us that being a woman has come with its challenges throughout her life, but have also presented her with opportunities for growth. "'Because you're a woman' has been a bias that I've faced at various points in my life. But it's one that I've not let hold me back or scare me off from anything I choose to do in my life and career. Rise above the noise
We loved working with our members and PureGym team to create our #RiseAboveTheNoise campaign film which highlights their personal experiences of gender bias… Samara told us that one day she decided she wasn’t going to listen to the noise anymore. She took charge, started working with her personal trainer and since then has lost 4 stone and can see huge improvements in her health. Sarwan Heart Story
After PureGym member Sarwan suffered a cardiac arrest in the gym last year, manager Carl and member Anna saved his life by commencing CPR, using the on-site defibrillator and calling an ambulance. After Carl and Anna got Sarwan’s pulse back, the paramedics arrived and he was taken to hospital. He is now making a positive recovery which he puts down to keeping fit and healthy and having a strong heart. “Because I come to the gym, I think that’s why I survived. People are here to help you, but you have to look after yourself first.” Following the shock of the incident, Sarwan’s son Ajay, has now taken his team at work through CPR and first aid training, and has bought a defibrillator to put on site.
