Our last away fixture of the season saw 5 Brighton players place inside the top 6 in the absolute! The game was in the Brighton’s hands after the stroke play event, taking a 12-6 lead into the Matchplay event. Notable performances from Jason Russell securing 1st place not only in the Over 45 category but also in the absolute! Josh Paton securing a 1st place finish in the Men on count back and 2nd place in the absolute. Johnny Buggy fell short of points scoring this weekend but nonetheless finishing 2nd in the Newcomer and 4th in the absolute. The final mentions to Mark George & Bradley Gander who rounded off Brighton’s top 6 finishers.

Brighton’s Johnny Buggy & Mark George tied with Richings Park Matt Deans & Charlie Hughes to half 5pts

The first draw of the season might see Brighton a little hard done by after the stroke play but a very good performance from both Richings pairs in the match play means we share the spoils. The Brighton lads and lasses will pick themselves up and go again as we welcome Richings Park to Brighton Footgolf this weekend (11th August).

The second home fixture of the season at saw 3 Brighton players finish inside the top 10. The game was in the balance after the stroke play event with Brighton taking 6 points from a possible 18. Notable performances from Josh Paton securing 3rd place in the absolute category, Rich Philp securing a 1st place finish in the Over 45’s and 4th place in the absolute and Johnny Buggy rounding off the point scorers for Brighton with his 1st place in the Newcomer catagory and a good 6th place finish in the absolute. The final mention to Simon Gander for his +4 seeing him the 4th best Brighton scorer on the day qualifying him for the final match play event. Gatwick led 12-6 going into the match play.

The first home fixture of the season at saw a solid performance from the Brighton team of 12. The game was wrapped up after the stroke play event with Brighton taking 17 points from a possible 18. Notable performances from Johnny Buggy securing 1st place in the absolute & newcomer category, Josh Paton securing a 2nd place finish in the absolute, Jason Russell claimed 1st place in the over 45’s, Suzanne Medhurst claiming the first ever women’s points for brighton winning her respective category and the final win coming from junior Zach Thompson.

A tight encounter saw Brighton footgolf miss out on their second win of the campaign coming up 3 points short on the day. The game came down to needing to tie and win the Matchplay but Brighton could only manage a win and a loss. Notable performances from Josh Paton and Rich Philp winning their respective categories to secure valuable points going into the matchplay. A 2nd place finish for Jason Russell in the senior category, backed up by good performances from Mark George, Sam Miners and Jono Whitlock who all managed to go round evens or better.

Congratulations to both & on being a part of the England team that won the 4 Nations at the weekend. A big result against the holders Ireland saw England reach the final where they faced fierce rivals Scotland.

A first win for Brighton footgolf, not only in the league but their history! Our team of 5 players pulled off something special this weekend to bring all 3 points back to Brighton. Notable performances from Josh Paton and Jason Russell winning their respective categories to secure valuable points going into the matchplay. A top 10 finish for Mark George, and good performances from Sam Miners and Jono Whitlock to back up a good weekend of footgolf for the Brighton team.

We travel there with a 13 player squad consisting of 8 Men, 3 Over 45’s and 2 Juniors. 5 of those players are also eligible to compete in the newcomer category.

We kick off our 2024 club league season this Sunday with the A23 Derby against Gatwick footgolf away!

This game will also mark the first competitive fixture in Brighton FGC history, a fantastic landmark and achievement for all involved.

NEW PLAYERS WANTED ⚽️⛳️

We are on the lookout for new footgolf players to join us at newly formed Brighton FGC! Our season runs from April - September with an in house club night (Friday evenings) as well as competitive fixtures against other footgolf teams (weekend), a great way to keep yourself involved with football in the off season!

We are in need of more players for our MEN, WOMEN & JUNIOR (U16) categories for the 2024 season. NO EXPERIENCE is needed so grab your football and get in contact to come and get involved in the fastest growing sport in the world!
