Neptune Finswimming Club
We are finswimming club operating in Bristol area
We are back in Lignano! We were invited to compete in the Grand Final earlier in the year and while not as many of us were able to attend as in March, Jess has been holding down the fort and representing us and GB. She also got to meet some famous faces in the process (photos to follow!) Well done Jess, fantastic swimming πͺπ»
We are three weeks into our summer break, a week and two days left until we're back in the pool and training (not that anyone is counting... π€«)
A little video snippet of our last training session before the holidays. How many monofins can you spot? And how many bi-fins?
We are over halfway through our summer break π We've had swimmers keeping up with their training outside of the club (dedicated π). Gym, open water, pool swims, walking... We've got it all! Nothing quite beats a club session though and we are looking forward to getting back into the pool πββοΈ
Amazing! Well done Izzy and Kateπ₯ππ
Stunning silver! β¨
Congratulations Izzy Thorpe & Kate Shortman who win our first medal in artistic swimming π
Amazing! First medal for GB. Can't wait for the next few weeks ππ
HISTORY MAKERS! π€©
Yasmin Harper & Scarlett Mew Jensen become our first EVER female synchronised diving medallists at the Olympics π
That was incredible.
Neptune are entering the world of reels π₯
Some footage of our training session on Friday, showcasing what our swimmers do best πͺ
We have members from the age of 9+, including a group of masters (no such thing as too old!). If you'd like to find out more, or give it a try, give us a shout on socials or [email protected]
A little bit of cross training this week at South West Maritime Academy (no fins π¬) So nice to be back doing a bit of open water swimming. The quarry has a great 750m course (there are shorter ones too), clean water, great facilities and occasionally a bit of βοΈ π
It was great to catch up with John from Dip & Explore nd hear all about his open water coaching sessions!
Neptune are back in the pool tonight; endurance session on its way πββοΈ πͺ
Another competition β
and a brilliant win for team Neptune! π Well done to all the swimmers involved, strong swims from all who took part with one national record broken π¬π§ and seven age group records πͺ. We won a big trophy π
We had people competing for the first time in finswimming and others who have competed many times. We have swimmers ranging from ages 9+, with a small group of masters swimmers, so we are a friendly, inclusive, supportive club which caters for all ages. If you'd like to join, or just come along and give it a try, get in contact via socials or [email protected]
A final note just to thank for facilitating us, it's such a fantastic, inspiring venue and facility to use.
Showcasing Neptune at Hengrove leisure centre this morning as we were swimming in the pool next to an open meet. It was great to see some fast swims at the Bristol Penguins and Keynsham open meet! Well done to everyone swimming.
Fin swimming is a great sport in its own right but also a great addition to regular swim training - we have lots of members who do both πͺ. The picture shows the kit we use while finswimming... Using the monofin is harder than it looks but it is so much fun! π§π§ββοΈ If you would like to attend a session and give it a go, get in touch on socials or via email π¨ - [email protected]
