The past five years working varied roles in early years has filled me with joy as I've daily cared for little ones, and in that sung songs with, danced with, laughed with and learnt with. I've supported children and their families too, through the inevitable challenges that come while navigating changes in childhood; the 'why stage', potty training, big emotions, sleep regressions, and more. To me, there really isn't a joy like seeing children are safe, loved, cared for, provided a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities.
So then where is the need to explore further out of the same towns, types of nurseries, and the curriculum I'm so familiar with?
I guess you could say I'm in my 'why stage'. Just as a toddler begins to enquire about everything they see and experience, in an attempt to discover more about the world in which they live, that's what I'm attempting to do too. With that in mind, I also hope to be able to inspire others within early years who may have similar questions about the way in which we do things in our early years settings.
There's a whole world out there doing the same thing everyday, caring for and teaching children, within families, crèches, nurseries, schools and more, but the way in which we do it is so varied. As I search out these variations across the UK and further into Europe I'm excited to share the similarities and differences as I see them, and adopt aspects of these in an effort to conitnually improve the experinces provided for children and support for families here at home in the UK.
So, here continues the adventure to find out what kind of educators, in what kind of envirnment, and teaching with what sort of curriculum do children thrive well in. Although there's never a one-fits all scenario, I'm so excited to see what works well for other places! 🗺

Here goes...
Today the next adventure really begins as I step foot into a different country ready to experience early years and childcare provision somewhere else first hand.
I'm excited to see how things differ to the system I've worked with in the UK for the last 5 years now, but also to witness the fundamentals that all must have in common when looking after children, the care, the fun and games that go on!
Keep a look out for some more posts coming soon as I share some experiences and more of what I see and get up to! ☺️
