What a gorgeous time we had for this pair. They chose to have a beautiful modern, but traditional wedding ceremony
We told their 17 year strong love story, we spoke about their wonderful family, paid respects to those no longer with us, they exchanged vows and rings and had a whopper of a kiss. It was exactly how they had imagined.

Sometimes, embracing tradition is exactly what couples are after for their ceremony, I still make it fun and loving! You dont have pump your wedding day with the latest trends, banter and edginess if thats not you. I'm here for you either way.

🫶🏼 Warm Welcomes 🫶🏼

All of my ceremonies include a warm welcome "pre-ceremony chat" to your guests in the ceremony space... 5 mins or so before we kick things off properly.

This usually includes a little intro about me, what to expect (roughly) from the couple's ceremony and sets the scene. Do the guests need a heads up about a sing along? About audience participation? Confetti? To get the tissues ready? It's a good opportunity for housekeeping, loo's, phones and what's happening next too.

Plus, it's also a lovely way to warm people up and set the tone for the rest of the ceremony. Gentle and Romantic? Fun and Upbeat? We start here.

I'm so excited to be back at the gorgeous this Summer for the wedding of a really fab couple i'm working with! Folly Farm has an extra special place in my heart as it's where I got married back in 2021, so it's a real privilege to be going back in my Celebrant capacity.

💫 Amy and Hugh part 2 💫

Another brilliant ceremony for these two. Simultaneously beautiful, cheeky and funny, bringing out their personalities perfectly.

This was an "abridged" version of their Wedding Ceremony, with no vows or rings... but their love story was told, we spoke of the importance of marriage and recapped their Big Day in Greece, straight after we played Mr and Mrs and had a lot of fun working out just how well they knew each other!

🫒 Greek Olive Grove Wedding 🫒

My dear friends Amy and Hugh got married and I was honoured to officiate their ceremony. It was amazing. The last sneaky guest snap mid ceremony says it all.

Both Groom and Bride looked stunning, the venue was intimate and authentic, the speeches were meaningful and so so funny and the ceremony... well i think i did them proud. It was romantic, sweet and fun!

We hid the rings so a lucky nephew had a part to play in finding them, we had a sand ceremony full of hysterics as it turned into more of a 'mixing cement' ceremony instead. There were funny anecdotes of early dating, their own personal relationship and characters were front and center and their closest friends and family made their own commitments through group vows.

We didn't pretend they were anyone but themselves and the whole ceremony was sprinkled with 'Opas!!' laughs and the occasional watery eye was wiped away.

I would do it again in a heart beat.

✨ Personal Vows ✨

In my perrrrsonal opinion, it's extra special to write your own wedding vows. Speaking from the heart, adding a sprinkling of personalities, tying in your real life and future.
Sure, some of the elements of the traditional vows are beautiful and ring true today, 'in sickness or in health' and 'richer or poorer' are still spot on important promises.

But, lighten it up, bring in YOU, why not say 'i promise to make you cheese on toast when you're bed ridden from the common cold' or 'i'll do my very best to keep us grounded when we eventually win the euro-millions... any day now right?'

🧡 Wedding Weekend 🧡

I had an absolutely gorgeous time being a bridesmaid at one of my very best friend's wedding this weekend. It was a corker, full to the brim with fun and love.

There was a beautiful traditional church wedding, singing sea shanties in the brief downpour, a very bouncy ceilidh, delicious homemade scones and grazing boards and lots and lots of their notorious gin cocktail punch!

They are a gorgeous couple. Full of a big love for each other as well as a great friendship, and there's a lot of adventure, laughter and naughtiness between them. Long may it continue. Cheers you, the Holden-Harris' 🥂

🖋️ The Legal Bit 🖋️

Ok, lets be real , it might feel a little bit odd that when planning your ceremony you need to consider that celebrants (like me) can't marry you legally. We can throw you an incredible, personal, love and laughter filled ceremony, but no, you won't technically be married if that's all you choose to do...

But don't freak out, it's simple, just get your cheeky little butts down to the local registry office before or after your special wedding day to sign the papers and it's all done (price starts at £57 for this in Briz).

You can choose to make as much or as little of this bit as you would like... My husband and I chose just our parents, a very fancy meal and some pretty sharp suits. Friends have opted for their besties and brew-dog so anything goes.

Don't let the paperwork get in the way of the wedding day of your dreams.

🥃Shot anyone?🥃

Post vows and rings, we sent round trays of Tequila (or elderflower) for this gorgeous couple's guests, so they could share a toast with the happy couple. It was so fun, and so them, really setting the tone for the rest of their day.

I even managed to persuade everyone that there was a very meaningful lovey dovey reason behind it... 👍🏼 Your guests will love it!

🪙 Heads or Tails 🪙

If you can't decide who's going first with Vows or Rings, why not add in a little game to decide.
It's a great opportunity to get someone special involved in the ceremony, like the Father of the Groom here flipping a coin to decide, but I've also organised for couples to 'Pull Straws' and been 'Rock Paper Scissors' Umpire.

This adds a little silliness, and there's nothing wrong with a little healthy competition is there?

I absolutely adored getting to know these two. They are kind, loving, generous and so much fun. They really do make the best team and I just know that they are meant to navigate this crazy life together, hand in hand.

On the day, their ceremony was very special indeed. We had everything! Some tears, and gentle sentimental moments, their love story was shared, and big smiles and loud cheers came from all. The beautiful space was absolutely over flowing with love for them both.

🧡 Autumn Weddings 🧡

This is a gorgeous time of year to get married. The deep colours bring your vision to life, beautiful lighting for your photos, the crisp air, a sense of romance and you can create a stunning ceremony space with flickering candles and the warmth of words.

Autumn couples can then look forward to their honeymoon away in the winter sun, making everyone back home very jealous indeed, and then come back to embrace a snuggly seasons as newlyweds. Perfect.

💫 Wedding Shows 💫

I tend to be a bit picky with wedding shows, and only go to those whose ethos I align with, who are inclusive and loving and whose offer I believe in. This could be a venue run fair if i love the space and their people, a community of like minded suppliers or a theme or niche I fit right in with.

I'm really looking forward to the on Sunday at a firm fave, Paintworks in Bristol.
