Some news from us!

After 2 years of van building, we are super excited to be taking a new leap. We’ve ridden an incredible wave for the past few years and just as it felt right to jump on it then, it feels right to ride the next one now. Change is hella scary sometimes, but so can be said for staying the same.

Simon has discovered an immense passion for woodwork and cabinet making so will be focussing on growing in that and it’s time for me to focus on and some Youth Work training 🧡

We’ve learnt so much more than we ever thought possible about ourselves and each other (don’t pay for couples counselling guys, just start a business together 😅). And it absolutely wouldn’t have been as fun as it has without such an industry of incredible makers around us. We are coming out a hell of a lot stronger, wiser and ready for the next adventure.

Our last conversion will be our last and we’ll be holding onto Rae of Sunshine for the time being. Thank you SO MUCH all of you who have made this chapter so great and supportive, now onto the next one!

Our latest build for Autumn/Winter. We’ve enjoyed the Rae of Sunshine layout so much we made another, and now another! We have a secret soft spot for this one though, there’s just something about those autumn colours…

Vans coming out of our eyeballs 👀 this shiny young thing will be ready in the new year. Don’t worry though, we’re going to finish the other one first.

We’ve had an absolute belter of a summer. It’s been non-stop. It’s been so nice to see so many people enjoying Rae of Sunshine and we’ve loved cracking on with the latest conversion. We’re feeling pretty pooped now though. We heard last week that supply issues mean we’ll be waiting on our wood burner for a further two weeks, delaying our finish date. Given it’s out of our hands, we’ve decided to capitalise on it and take the week to rest, reset and recharge. Back soon ✌🏻

It’s nearly my favourite season of the year. We’d be lying if we said it hasn’t influenced the look of our latest build 🍁🍃🪵

Is there a better time to be in a van than autumn? Crisp sun and slightly longer nights make for the best adventures followed by a cozy night by the wood burner. What’s your favourite time to be away?

Rae is someone’s surprise birthday present this weekend 😭 our baby all grown up!

A king size bed with enough bedside cupboards for all your candles, books, board games and useless gadgets you always think you’ll use and never do. We sort of built them by accident in Rae and they turned out to be pretty handy. (Is a getting excited about storage a sign of getting older?) 👀

We were pretty nervous the first time we put a woodburner in a van. Worried it would be too hot, that we wouldn’t actually ever use it. Turned out to be the best thing we ever did. It gives off the perfect amount of heat, dries any moisture out of the air and is cosy as anything. Well, maybe not when we’re in a 32 degree heatwave, but when winter comes (let’s face it, a good 6 months of the year), we’ll be chuffed.

Our latest van has found it’s people ❤️ say hello to the lovely owners of our latest conversion, Mel & Dave, we can’t wait to see the adventures you go on! Those who missed this one, keep your eyes peeled for the next one, ready in 10 weeks 🌞
