Today is International Day of The African Child.
In Africa there are approximately 12-15 million people with sickle cell. About 85% of the children born with sickle cell disease are born in Africa. About 50-80% of the children with sickle cell dies before the age of 5. These children deserve better healthcare and a higher life expectancy. ~~ Vandaag is de Dag van het Afrikaanse Kind. Een dag waarop aandacht wordt gevraagd voor de rechten van kinderen in Afrika op gebied van oa. onderwijs, gezondsheidzorg en veiligheid. Het thema dit jaar is 'Leave No Child Behind for Africa’s Development'. In Afrika leven zo een 12-15 miljoen mensen met sikkelcelziekte. Ongeveer 85% van de kinderen die geboren wordt met sikkelcelziekte woont in Afrika. Het sterftecijfer van kinderen onder de 5 jaar met sikkelcelziekte in Afrika is zo een 50%-80%. Deze kinderen hebben recht op goede gezondheidszorg en betere overlevingskansen. .

Our hosts Alex Lovell and David Garmston mentioned the fact that we had a standing ovation from the audience and were then kicked off 😂

Wow what a morning, Me and Mum had Radio interview with on Emma Britton's show this morning sharing about our experience on Britain's Got Talent, discussing the need to donate blood and sickle cell awareness. Emma actually has her 36th blood donation appointment this Thursday which is awesome!!! To donate you can register at www.blood.co.uk and help save lives
