What information can I get from a drone?
1. Plant Health using Vegetation indices.
These are calculated according to the reflectance properties of vegetation.
It’s done with multispectral imaging.
You can use vegetation indices to investigate several features about a plant, including water stress levels and even nutrient deficiencies.
Here you can see drought stress.
- Front right pop-up needs some attention.
- Back pop-ups overlap due to the dry patch back middle of the green.
- Yellowing also shows a lack of nitrogen so the fertiliser program might need some adjustment to help with the stress.
These images can help with water conservation in turn saving money, time and resources.
