Shelf Indulgence
Micro Brew Radio's book club and book review show.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Wendy Garcarz for all the fantastic episodes of Shelf Indulgence she’s been a part of. After 4 years of talking books she’ll be recording her last episode this week. Well done Wendy it’s been great 👏
Shelf Indulgence still hopes to go on and Jim is looking for new members to join him for our radio book club! If you’d like to get involved send us a message either on here or on [email protected]
Good reading!
HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY!
I know it is mainly for the kids (saw lots of Harry Potters walking to school this morning) but reading can bring out the child in us all. It offers escapism in what can be a grim world some days, it offers humour and laughter, it offers insight and growth but most of all it stretches our minds, exposes us to new ideas and possibilities. Even if you are not traditionally a reader try a short story or a bid of poetry and give your brain a little gift.
This is me achieving a life long ambition of becoming a novelist, who would have thought it!
🔎 Dive deep into the murky world of espionage and deception with Wendy Charlton's Daniel Grant Series! 🕵️♂️ Follow Grant and the residents of Shady Fields as they navigate through a labyrinth of secrets and lies, where every ally could be a foe and trust is a rare commodity. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns that will leave you guessing until the very end!
So many people commenting on Harlan Corban's Series and it reminded me of one of my favourite reviews received about Keeping Secrets "Harlan Coben eat your heart out! A page turner that draws you in and makes this novel really hard to put down.
The clever, flowing style makes it an easy, enjoyable read. The characters are well defined and believable. And the inside knowledge of M15 and the secret service is fascinating. Are we sure the author hasn’t been/isn’t a spy?
Every element of the story feels credible and is a testament to the writer’s thorough research methods. The insight into dementia is terribly sad but also lends itself to brilliant moments of humour and would be a valuable read for anyone battling with this dreadful disease, including those in the care sector.
I am really hoping this is the first of many novels and can’t wait to see what Myron Bolitar, sorry Daniel Grant, gets up to in his next adventure. Maybe a touch of romance (with Hilary)?????"
I will take that thanks very much!!
