Thanks to some wonderful support over the last few months, Halliday Tutorial has grown and is now more than just me - Amy!

It’s a big leap for us but please be assured we only work with the best, tried and trusted teachers, to ensure the same professional - but personal approach to teaching.

I would like to introduce you to our amazing team, here to support in all aspects of English and maths tuition.

Amy Halliday - English teacher

With over 20 years of experience teaching English at all levels, I am dedicated to supporting and boosting the confidence of students ages 11+. As a fully qualified teacher holding QTS status, I have worked extensively with students from Year 7 to adult education, guiding them to succeed in their studies. Additionally, my role as an examiner for a reputable examining body has equipped me with valuable insights to help students not just pass their exams, but excel in them.

Sana Khan

I am a passionate teacher specialising in Maths and English. An experienced GCSE teacher, I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and Linguistics, a PGCE and TESOL certificate. I can teach Maths and English up to GCSE level and tailor all of my lessons to suit the needs of my students to make all of my lessons and engaging as possible

Simon Woods

With a wide range of experience of teaching English from 11+ to adult, I am driven by improving results for learners and working collaboratively to get the best results possible. A fully qualified English teacher with QTS, I have over 10 years teaching experience in a variety of settings, meaning I can personalise the learning experience for all my learners. Working across multiple exam boards and as an examiner means I have a broad scope of knowledge and insight to pass on.

Looking back–My reflections on a year of GCSE English and Maths online tuition (and the launch of Halliday Tutorial!) - Halliday Tutorial So that’s it! As another academic year draws to a close and the last few sessions come to an end, I thought I would sum up the year for our most recent blog.

Well that’s a wrap for my last GCSE prep lesson of this academic year and what amazing students they’ve all been. Final English exam tomorrow and I have all my fingers and toes crossed!!!

Such a bittersweet time of year. I’ve just completed my first last lesson with one of my lovely Year 11 students * C * She started off not enjoying English language and with a preference for lit and lacked confidence in analysis in particular.

Now months later - with a successful Paper 1 under her belt we flew through a whistlestop lesson on Paper 2 where she was excellent!!!

Fingers crossed for next week!

Bank holiday Monday means a chance for some extra revision! Paper 2 is on the 6th of June and my Year 11’s are working hard on their non fiction analysis and the exciting topic of cyclists 🚴 😂✏️🖊️📕🧠🤞
