I have received the below message from my doctors which is on Croft Lane in Hollins. These roadworks will obviously impact on access to the the day classes at Hollins Community Centre. So if coming by car you will need to come via Sunnybank road or Stanley Rd e.t.c. Anyone coming by bus will need to check what arrangements they are putting in place.

(Dear Mrs Hawkins
Croft lane will be closed daily to all traffic between 9am to 4pm from Saturday 19th October 24 until Tuesday 29th October 24 for road resurfacing works. To access the surgery the contractor has requested that all vehicles travelling to the surgery approach from the top of Croft Lane via Asda. Access from Manchester Road will be closed. Please allow extra time for your journey.)

Retired or have some spare time in the day, why not try something new. Come along to one of my classes, good exercise, have fun and meet new people. Never danced before then one of the absolute beginners classes will be ideal for you to start off.

Look what great social events are coming up for you this month. Sunday 20th is a great all request afternoon of dancing and Friday 25th we have the fabulous Nigel Slater on stage to entertain us plus requests played by your DJ Jules. Everyone welcome, come along for a great fun time in a lovely air conditioned room with a bar.

Following the success of last night and the fact that the charity Andys Man Club means a lot to my family, this will now be an annual event. So put in your diaries ready, Friday 3rd October 2025.

Wow what an absolutely amazing night fundraising for ANDYSMANCLUB. Thank you everyone for coming and helping to raise £710 for this brilliant charity and thanks for all the raffle donations. Special thanks to George who kept the floor full, Jude and Bev for the fabulous graze table, to Sue, Louise and Glenys Nolan s who helped with football card, bingo tickets and raffle. Thanks also to Alex and the two Andys who came to represent ANDYSMANCLUB and explain so well how the club helps to prevent male suicides. Will do it all again next year.
