The system wasn’t achieving the correct pressure but after some investigation we found a leak on the system and a heavily contaminated pump. The leak was repaired and the rotary pump fully serviced.

The system was initially achieving 900mbar but after our visit the system is now achieving 0.008mbar and our customer can continue work.

The new angular contact bearings will soon be installed ensuring the load is placed across both inner our out race to avoid damage to the bearing during fitting. The correct preload will then applied to the bearings to ensure the longevity of your pump.

Edwards XDS35i scroll pump in for service. As you can see in the images the tip seals have broken apart. The pump in question is regularly pumping from atmosphere. This can significantly increase the wear rate on the tip seals.

Glove bag setup around a UHV manipulator on a molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system. The glove bag has a constant flow of nitrogen entering the bag while simultaneously being pumped out. This prevents water vapour and other contaminates entering the system as they would if open to atmosphere. In turn the pump out time is greatly reduced after the work is complete and can potentially save the need to bake the system. Working through a glove bag can be challenging but worth the extra effort.

Edwards nXDS6i scroll pump we serviced on site for one of our customers this week. The pump couldn’t be taken out of service due to high demand for the system. We visited the site and completed the work with minimal disruption.

As well as on site servicing we offer loan pumps to reduce downtime. A completion report is issued at the end of our visit listing the work that was carried out, pump health and any potential issues flagged during the service.

Buchi V100 diaphragm pump we serviced in a chemistry laboratory today. The pump was disassembled and cleaned before new diaphragms and valves were fitted. Please contact us for any service requirements in your laboratory.

The start of a Edwards nXDS scroll pump overhaul. The disassembly is nearly complete, next we can begin our three stage ultrasonics cleaning process and inspection.

One of several Edwards nXDS15i scroll pumps in for service this week. Take a look at the wear on the tip seals. The tip seals had become so thin the started breaking apart.

Fortunately the pump hasn’t sustained any damage to the scrolls and our customer has been lucky on this occasion.

The Edwards XDS100 Scroll Booster pump is a compact and reliable booster pump which is suitable for use on vapour handling processes.

XDS-100B cannot exhaust directly to atmosphere, and must be backed by primery pump. XDS100B is intended for use in conjuction with Edwards XDS35i or Edwards XDS46i scroll pumps.
