I’ll be at Cambridge Folk Festival tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.

I’ve not come out of retirement (yet) but I’ll be running the Folk Idol slot in the Kids Field for my friends at The Local between 2 & 4.

I guess, if it’s quiet (I’m assured it won’t be) , I might play a song or two if I can remember any of them.

Hello everyone, I finally get to tell you that there's a new album coming out on September 15 via Gare du Nord Records.
It will be called "Holding Hands in Petrópolis", pre-orders have gone up on bandcamp today, and the eight-minute song "He's Not Ill" has been pre-released as a digital single and video.

In some ways this is my most complete-sounding record, I think, also thanks to the many friends from both sides of the Channel who have enriched my recordings with their vocal and instrumental contributions, them being: Ian Button, Helen McCookerybook, Amelia Fletcher, Fay Hallam, Paul Pfleger, Kenji Kenji, Stootsie von Salzburg, Cathi Mini, Ernst Molden, Aram Zarikian, Der Nino aus Wien. Thanks to all of you!

"Alex Highton has already been the subject of critical acclaim in the music press, having been bestowed with the honour of having a “Sufjan Stevens-like audacity” by the Mojo Magazine. Given his Liverpudlian roots it is easy to see how that city’s rich musical heritage influenced a young Alex.
