🌧️☂️🌧️☂️ Oh the weather outside is frightful, isn’t it?! I’m postponing this Sunday’s Canterbury Bike Project Ride to give the trails a chance to recover. Look out for a ride over Easter instead. Hopefully we’ll see some 🐰 rather than just 💦!

The March ride will not now be at betteshanger. I did a recce ride today and it was VERY waterlogged💧💦🐳. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of mud, but there’s no joy if you can’t get a bit of flow going! Formulating new plan. Will post again soon!

📣Canterbury Bike Project Women’s Off-Road Ride - 26 Feb 2023 at 10am - Blean/Denstroude loop📣

Who is this ride for? Those who identify themselves as women, enjoy riding away from busy areas and are keen to help build a community of likeminded souls. It’s not about who’s the fastest or how many miles we cover. It’s about nature and good company.

This ride is intentionally short but fun. There’s a lovely flowing downhill bit in the middle - no peddling! It‘s about 60% off-road and the rest on quietish roads. The route is not particularly technical (mostly tracks in the wood) so we will all have a chance to relax and get to know one another, rather than worrying if we’re good enough. There are a few little undulations but everyone will be welcome to take them at their own pace.

Meeting point: outside the Gulbenkian cafe at the University of Kent. There is free parking all over campus on the weekend. Nearest car parks are Giles Lane or Darwin.
Please arrive before 10am, ready to ride at 10am.
Helmets are a must. Wear layers. Bring a snack. There is no cafe stop mid ride so fuel up!
Bike choice: gravel or mtb - if you‘re unsure about your bike, just say. The project can offer advice/help.
