Our very last session from the Spring Term ended with a spontaneous Round Robin Blitz Tournament. ♟️
Time control was 3 minutes + 2 second increment for every move and tiebreaks were decided through a bullet game. Here are the final standings. 🏆

We are organising our first ECF rated tournament. The event will take place on Monday the 25th of March, with rounds starting at 7.30 PM. 🗓
There will be 5 rounds and the time control is 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment for every move. ⏳️
Location: Keynes College Seminar Room 11, University of Kent 📍

The better news is that this event is open for everyone, not just the members of our society, so if you feel competitve, we cannot wait to have you join our tournament. 🏆

Snodland Chess Club hosted a Simultaneous display on Tuesday the 27th, in which players went against 3-time Dutch Champion GM Sergey Tiviakov (peak rating 2699). ♟️

Unfortunately, they all lost, but they all "survived" for more than 50 moves. 😁

First important event of this term is almost here. ❗️
This next 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, the Big Fair will take place in the 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲. 🎉
The event starts at 𝟭𝟬𝗔𝗠 with the 𝔸𝕔𝕔𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕚𝕓𝕚𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪 𝕄𝕠𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘, where no music or loud noise will be allowed and a reduced number of people will be in the venue to avoid an overwhelming crowded space.
From 𝟭𝟮𝗣𝗠 𝘁𝗼 𝟯𝗣𝗠 access will be opened for all students and the event will continue as usual.
We will be present at a stall, as you might have already guessed, and we will announce the stall number on the day.
Come along to play a couple of games with us and register interest with the society. ♟️

Last Movember event for this year is going to be a Simultaneous Play event, and it's open for everyone! ♟️
So invite all of your friends and meet us in Keynes College Seminar Room 12 this Wednesday, 29th of November, starting 5PM, to face some of our best players. 💪

This session is a fundraising event for Movember, meaning that we will have both a card reader and a bucket for cash donations. Minimum donation to take part in the event is £1 💷

If you cannot make it to the event, but still want to donate, we have an active product on our Kent Union page that you can purchase for £3, and all of the money will go towards the aforementioned cause.
