Canterbury Cathedral will be holding A Vigil of Solidarity for Peace in the Middle East on Monday 30 October, 18:30-19:00.

Organised and hosted by Dean David Monteith, it will have representatives from our Jewish, Muslim, and Christian communities, for all the people of our diocese of every background.

Please gather outside Cathedral House in the Precincts, and come along with battery-operated candles.

There will be an opportunity for everyone to tie a white ribbon for peace, and a time of silence to remember the dead, kidnapped and injured.

Please note: this is an entirely non-political event to remember and pray for all communities impacted in the Holy Land. Only flags or signs for peace may be displayed. No political slogans or other flags/symbols permitted in the Precincts.

Help Canterbury Foodbank get ready for Christmas ...

🚨 ⛄️ πŸ₯‚STOP SCROLLING!! 🎊 🎁 🚨

We know - it's too early to think about Christmas! πŸŽ… BUT at Food Bank Canterbury, Christmas is our busiest time of year and we spend months planning out how we are going to meet the level of demand we face, and we need your help!

So, in November, we would love it if you could think about it for a while too - in your own home, your office, school, church or community group. Our Reverse Advent scheme is a chance to make a huge difference to local families this year. Instead of opening a little door and receiving chocolates, will you open your heart and see what you can give to your community?

Team up with your family, your neighbours, some colleagues or a few friends and see if you can tackle the list below over the month of November until you have gathered a whole Christmas Hamper of goods for our community. Then, in early December, bring them to one of our distribution points and we will make sure that nobody goes hungry this Christmas.

Are you in? Comment and share this post to spread the love! We need as many people involved as possible in whatever way they can manage.
