We kept the wood and style the same to create a consistent that carries from one part of the house to the other, creating a stylistic flow. 👌

👍 All work and no play makes for a very boring day!

One of the perks of the job is that we get to work to travel a lot of new places, whenever we're working away, we always take a little time explore. 🗺️

On this particular job, the client owned two beautiful 🐶 Alsatians, Rolo and Pip, you can see them in the photos. We're big dog lovers, so anytime we get to have a dog on site, we're happy.

This particular area was well known for it's bakery, so you can bet that we tried our fair share of delights and we can confirm, they were all completely delicious. 🧁

This is just a little insight into what it takes to build a completely bespoke kitchen, we wish we could say it was completed in 12 steps but it most definitely was not.

Looking back, this has to be up there with our favourite kitchen projects, the sleek design together with the chunky wood created a fantastic finish, and we always love it when we can get a bit creative.

🛠️ Have you been enjoying the long weekend?

We most certainly have, we've been taken the rare opportunity to put the tools down and enjoy a couple of days off.

💡Why are we using Burnt Larch?

We've recently been sharing a lot of photos about the Sunnymead project which is coming to an end, one of the questions we keep seeing is about the cladding.

On this project we've used Burnt Larch to clad the outside of the house, as you can see the wood is quite dark and this is due to the charring process that it goes through.

A few weeks ago we posted some photos of this floating staircase and glass balustrades we'd been working on. Now we can show your the finished project! 👌

The client was incredibly happy with the result and so were we, stairs can take up a lot o of room and often make things look quite dark but the glass balustrades help to keep things open and light.

📢 An update on Sunnymead!

We've taken Sunnymead off the page and turned it into a reality, this project has been a labour of love for the IJB Carpentry team and we are incredible pleased to see it entering the final phase of the building stage.

Over the next few weeks we will be adding the finish touches to complete the interior design, keep your eyes peeled for more photos coming soon.

Last week was all about making use of the client's space with built-in storage solutions. We installed two floor to ceiling cabinets as well as a wall length set of shelves.
