Strong performances by SMI athletes at the Exeter BMC meet
Ed ran a PB of 4.09.33 in the 1500m B race.
Ed was followed by Reece
who clocked 4:33.11 in the 1500m C race.
Connor progressed from his recent performance in Aberdare BMC to clock 1:57.20 for 7th place in the 800m A race.

Over in Ireland 🇮🇪 Niamh M - 10:27 3000m PB at the Dublin graded meet 👏
And in London 🏴 Dylan won a local meet 1500m in 4:05🫡
This weekend saw a number of athletes compete.
In birmingham, Georgia ran a huge pb of 9:21.58 in the 3000m, Sam ran a seasons best of 1:56.93 in the 800m and Aimee ran 4:47.47 in the 1500.
Aimee also competed at NAL in Yeovil on Sunday taking on the 800/1500 double.
Bethan came 2nd at the Welsh Schools Champs on Saturday running 5:14.29 in the 1500m.
Marcus upped the distance again to compete at Porthcawl 10km in 39:26 on Sunday.
Congratulations to for securing a scholarship and signing to run with for the 2024/25 year! We look forward to seeing her progress over the year 🇺🇸
Some promising performances this weekend from some some of our SMI athletes
Huw had a strong performance at the Welsh 5000m with a new pb of 16.17 and top 10 finish
Whilst Morgan finished in podium position of 3rd in the 5000m in the NAL with a time of 15.21
Liv took the victory in her 3000m at the NAL with a time of 10.10 this being her debut after several years away from the track.
Elen finished second in her heat with a strong effort and more to come this summer
Erin had a successful 800m debut this weekend with a time of 2.16 at the Newport BMC and Bethan finished with a 2.24 respectively
Reece also a strong performance in the 800m this weekend

Great weekend in Leckwith with a number of athletes making finals and setting new PBs.
Saturday saw Georgia, Erin, and Aimee all navigating their heat to make the women’s 1500m final.
Womens 1500m heats:
Georgia: 4:37
Erin: 4:39
Aimee: 4:41
In the final, Georgia ran 4:29 (a 20s overall PB this weekend🥵🔥) to finish 3rd overall, Erin 5th (3rd Welsh) in 4:36 and Aimee 11th in 4:50.
Ed, Sam, Huw and Morgan all competed in the men’s 1500m.

Morgan progressed to the final, where he clocked 4:08, finishing in 8th place.🏃♂️🏃♂️
On Sunday, Connor clocked 1:58.87 in the 800m heats, earning him a place in the final where he finished 5th in a time of 1:57:57🔥
Across the pond, Niamh McDonald competed in Ireland in the Belfast BMC 1500m, clocking a time of 4:47 (PB)🇮🇪

This weekend saw most of the group make the short journey to Cardiff 5k around Whitchurch with some great results.

Connor, Sam, Caitlin and Erin were up in Manchester at BUCS, with the boys part of the 4x400m team that made the final, setting a new club record in the process. In the individual 800 Connor ran 1:56, narrowly missing out on a PB in his season opener and a place in the semis and Sam ran 1:57 off little speed work on the comeback from an Achilles injury. Erin had a great season opener, winning her heat in a very comfortable looking 4:38 before narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

Starting off with Lead Coach
ran a PB of 17:44 at this weekend and came 9th female in her heat!
A great way to end her winter season 🤩
Some brilliant performances this weekend in tough conditions at the final Gwent League in PontyPool on Saturday.
The u20 women’s race Rachel Duckworth was the first girl home in 4th
Manisha Dave in 6th, Natasha Griffiths 7th and Alex Oliver in 8th.
In the u23s race Erin Burt came 1st and Kelcy Hooper came in 3rd respectively.
With this being the final Gwent League of the season we have some overall final standings
Erin Burt finishing 1st overall u23 and university ranking
Kelcy Hooper 3rd overall u23 and 2nd university ranking
Manisha Dave finish 4th overall in the u20s
James Bennet finished 5th in the u23 and 4th university ranking respectively.
Our athletes had a clean sweep of PB’s today at Trafford 10km!
tyas ran 29:23 taking 14 seconds off of his previous best 🙌🏼
ran 35:20 taking a huge 55 seconds off of her time from December 🤩
ran 38:01 narrowly missing the sub 38 mark in her second ever attempt at the distance 🥳
This weekend we’ve had athletes compete at a variety of races across the UK.
On Friday night at the in Battersea Park, Sam ran 14:18 and Liv ran 17:47 both really good times before competing more over this distance in the summer.
On Saturday at the cross country champs in Brecon, Niamh came 25th in the senior women’s race and Kelcy came 13th in the U17/U20 race with Dylan 13th and Ed 33rd in the senior men’s race.
On Saturday evening in Birmingham, Abbie ran at the indoors championships competing against the best in the UK running 4:35:68 in the 1500m heats.
Strong performances yesterday at BUCS Cross Country, always a highlight of the endurance winter competition calendar.
Highlights include Freya Spruit (Cardiff Met) 32nd and Erin Burt (Cardiff Uni) 33rd in long course race, both improving on their positions from last year.
Good results from Welsh Champs. Highlights include Welsh 1500m silver (3rd overall) for Erin Burt, 1500m PB for Reece Clarke and 4th and 6th for Connor Hood and Sam Tempest in 800m final (both had to win their heat to qualify)
Good performances in the BMC Cardiff Indoor GP.
Highlights include Abbie White getting British Champs qualifying time, Connor Hood comfortably winning his 800m heat and PBs for Danni Sinclair, Lauren Kennard and Reece Clarke.
