Yesterday we saw a epic turn out and welcome to the Queens Baton Relay in Butetown, Butetown, we did it! It was a pleasure & an honour to receive the Queens Baton for the 21st Commonwealth Games into Butetown yesterday on behalf of the City of Cardiff. It was a magical day from start to finish.A Huge Thank you to Carrole Fox Butetown Community Centre, Stewards & volunteers. Thanks also to all of the Baton Bearers, Radio Cardiff, Adeola, June & Cathryn, Aleighcia, Trinity for the entertainment, the Ire Shack for providing the fantastic food, Anthony, Ali Abdi, Spencer for the sports activities, the football teams and Mount Stuart School, Danny from the Princess Kathryn, Challenge Wales,for bringing the Baton in, the Greek Orthodox Church, and Team Wales for suggesting Butetown as the best place to represent Cardiff, and of course the Butetown Community Centre Committee. Completely bonkers game of indoor football at Oasis Cardiff last night. More like pinball than football! they narrowly edged us out to win 15-14, but we had such a great time we'll be back soon.
