Timeline photos 11/03/2023

We are seeing some very icy conditions on roads across the north of the county despite all our primary and secondary roads having been gritted from midnight.

Please take care on all roads until temperatures start to warm up later this morning. Salt becomes less effective at the very low temperatures we had overnight.

We have reopened the A5004 Long Hill, and we hope that the Cat and Fiddle, A54 and A537 and the A53 Buxton to Leek roads will open later this morning.

The B6001 Grindleford to Hathersage road is closed due to fallen trees. We will get these moved asap and reopen this road as soon as we can.

Main roads closed include:

The A6024 Holme Moss
Rushup Edge - Castleton to Chapel road
Winnats Pass - Castleton to Chapel road
Perryfoot - Sparrowpit to Winnats Pass road
A57 Snake Pass

Some of our farmer contractors will be out again this morning.

After a very cold start we are expecting road surface temperatures to rise later today and we should see a rapid thaw. Temperatures will drop again tonight, with some snow expected over the hills of the Peak District, and rain elsewhere.

Stay safe out there. https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/transport-roads/roads-traffic/road-maintenance/snow-info/latest-update/latest-snow-update.aspx

| GMP are continuing to investigate the disappearance of Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin (24), who was last seen in January 2022.

Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin, aged 24, was reported missing on Wednesday 2 February 2022 by her Grandmother who had not heard from her and was concerned for her welfare.

On receiving the report an immediate missing persons investigation was launched. Following a number of lines of enquiry, this missing person search was elevated to a murder investigation.

A 59-year-old man who has ties to Ashton-Under-Lyne, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder in March 2022. He has since been bailed and remains under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Liam Boden said: "Greater Manchester Police are continuing the search for Alisha and the investigation into her disappearance.

"We can confirm that Alisha travelled as a passenger in a vehicle to the area, County on Friday 14th January 2022.

"She was later seen travelling in the same vehicle on Saturday 22nd January 2022, leaving towards Chapel-en-le-frith in . Alisha has not been seen or heard from since.

"The vehicle she was a passenger in is described as a 2003 gold coloured Volkswagen Passat saloon.

“A year has passed now and still Alisha has not been seen by family, friends and loved ones and as the investigation continues it is believed that she may have come to serious harm.

“We need you - the public - to cast your minds back to Saturday 22 January 2022 and following days after, did you see anything suspicious? Did you see Alisha? Have you seen the vehicle in question? Do you know where that vehicle went? Did you witness any suspicious activity on nearby lanes or land?

“We are also appealing to the rural communities of Derbyshire in particular around Glossop, Buxton and Chapel-en-le-frith to come forward if you have seen anything suspicious or vehicles trespassing on private land around these dates.

“If you were around the Glossop, Chapel-en-le-frith or Buxton areas of Derbyshire, please contact police immediately, If you know anything, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, it may be the missing piece we need in our investigation to find Alisha.

“We are looking for CCTV, dashcam footage, images or any accounts of suspicious behaviour around that date as this will bring us one step closer to finding Alisha and help us understand what has happened to her.”

If you want to submit any information you can call police on 101 or submit information via GMP’s Major Incident Portal to upload footage and information: https://orlo.uk/N0F1Y

You can also call GMPs Major Incident team on 0161 856 6777.
