I may have written 50,000 words on my project already, (well between two different project this month), but neither the new story nor my nano project are ready for me to stop writing yet!
completed! The rewrite of The Meryton war and a second brand new story have combined to write my 50k words for Nano five days into November. So 50k words in the next thing is to see how many words will be in the two stories by end of November. ☺️ Watch this space folks. stories on the way!
The second edition of The Meryton War is off to a flying start during . This is shaping up to be a good book I’m so excited about this second edition. :)
Well folks it’s that time of year again! Nanowrimo is here. For this year’s challenge I chose to get myself in gear and do the rewrite I have been intending to do! So here it’s The second edition of The Meryton War is in full swing! The word count on Nano is only the section I am actually writing at present. There’s more that I have already written. The prologue, the prophecy and the first chapter have all been completely re-written. This is promising to be a much better book than the original was 🙂. I cannot wait to bring it out in all its glory and don’t forget:
“When the houses of Darcy and Bennet unite
and Wickham's perfidy has reached its height -
Then shall turmoil rage leading earth to unite.”
Today’s is Jeans or Muslin. The answer to this has to be depends on the situation. Both have their place in life.
Catching up: My day 16 snippet is from my upcoming release Betrayal coming on 20 December 2023. 👒🎩👗👑
Today’s day 23 is about inspiration: my inspiration comes from life. Anything can spark inspiration for a storyline.
Im sorry folks. Life has been a little manic for me recently. And I owe you several days of this. I will post the snippet of day 16 separately. So….
Day 15 last book read was Mythology of the British Isles (actually I am still reading this one :))
Day 17 goals for the year… Well as you all know my present goal is for the release of Betrayal by 20 December this year. My goals for next year include finishing off of the next book of The Darcy legacy - Married, as well as perhaps one or two other books.
Day 18: When not writing - Ermm when is that?! Ok in all seriousness im either reading, walking, doing a paint with diamonds or playing a musical instrument nowadays.
Day 19 Handwritten or typed: I’d love to say everything was hand written as I love beautiful handwritten manuscripts, but alas, my hands nowadays won’t allow that. So most of what I do is typed out.
Day 20 - plotter or pantser? When I first started I was firmly in the pantser category then for a time I flirted with the being 100 plotter nowadays I’m somewhere in the middle.
Day 21 Elinor or Marianne… neither. While Sense and Sensibility is better than Emma and Mansfield Park I liked it more when I was younger than I do today.
Day 22 Brandon or Wentworth - While they are both steady characters I prefer Wentworth simply for his quiet devotion.
A brief snippet from my upcoming release on 20th December.
Thomas Bennet is not the man the world thinks he is. For Twenty-nine years he has guarded a secret that could destroy both Elizabeth and Jane’s marriages before they have even begun. In this third instalment of Mr Bennet finally comes clean and tells the truth of what happened and why it could still ruin his daughters’ chances of happiness.

So today’s question is Longbourn or Netherfield. 🤔 I think my answer would have to be Longbourn. Many things go into my answer. However, suffice to say the Bennet’s though flawed are nicer that the Bingley’s! If we take the families out of the houses, I’d find Netherfield to be potentially too big. 🤷🏼♀️ so yup Longbourn for me…
Ok so im late here for day twelve: my favourite mansion I’m not sure if it sneaks into being mansion or just a Manor House, but Luckington Court (otherwise the house used for Longbourn in the 1995 P&P) is my favourite.
Day 13: it’s been a long time since I owned a piano, but I still love playing it to this day. As a stringed instrument the harp has a lovely sound, but I’ve never really been drawn to it, so for me the answer most definitely is piano.
So I missed Yesterday’s fun. I had a bit of a crazy day going on.
Yesterday the question was city or country. While I love visiting the city for shops etc, I am very much a country girl at heart! Long walks in the countryside or a picnic by the river and I’m a happy girl.
Today’s question is outside my window. The view outside my window changes from moment to moment - what is constant is the Catholic Church across the road and the tree lined alleyway, which borders both the Rectory and the train line. Plenty of birds to be seen and people wandering up and down the street.
So today’s question is an easy one for me. The question of summer or winter is one I debate a lot. I always argue for winter. I don’t tend to feel the cold and find overheating in summer to be too unpleasant, so for me it’s definitely the joys of snow on the ground and cool weather of winter.
So my is . Why? Because it is so well written.
It seems somehow I got yesterday and today around the wrong way 🤦♀️. So while today should be what’s on my desk, I will answer yesterday’s question of Ballgown or nightgown.
🤔 Depends very much on the situation and what I am doing. It is more common for me to have a duvet day lounging in front of the tv eating rubbish snacks and for that the comfort of the nightgown cannot be beaten.
However, who doesn’t love dressing up and whirling around the dance floor every now and then? The elegance of a ballgown can certainly do wonders for one’s sense of attractiveness and self worth!
So today I have to say both!
So today’s post is all about what is on my desk. My desk tends to be a dumping ground as it’s the surface I use most in my home. While I won’t go through every item (way too much), I usually have a book or two for research on my desk as well candles for lighting (I prefer the softer lighting). The most eclectic item? A Jane Austen rubber duck, always makes me smile. There’s always food of some description and of course the ubiquitous tech for producing my books!
This morning’s is ballroom or library. While I do like to dance occasionally, I am much more apt to be found in the library, so yes, today is Library for me.
So today’s is favourite heroine. 🤔 this is a difficult one for me as none of them come to mind for this one.
If by favourite one defines it as heroine that I can most see myself in then it would be a tie between Emma (although I find Emma to be a very problematic book in a lot of ways) and Anne Elliott. However, the choice of a heroine should go far beyond the whole who do I see myself in, as a heroine should be inspirational and give you something to aspire to, this I confess I have not found in books/movies and rarely in real life too. So for now at least, I do not have a favourite heroine. For me my dreams and aspirations continue on without one particular female role model.
. I’m a little late beginning.
1. About the author: I’m between day jobs right now, but usually work as a receptionist or administrator. I’m divorced and live a quiet life, although I love walking in nature or curling up with a good film when I’m not writing.
2. I love both tea and Coffee. My coffee of choice varies between mocha and cappuccino, but my tea of choice is a peppermint with no sugar or an earl grey with just a slice of lemon.
3. Favourite hero. 🤔 If staying strictly Austen then it’s a tough call between Captain Wentworth and Mr Darcy. However, beyond Austen I have to admit my favourite hero is Harry Hart from the Kingsman franchise.
Watch out for preorder links in the next week. I have one more proof reading to go and I need to tweak covers, but betrayal will be going up for preorder by the end of the week! I’m excited to bring you the next Darcy legacy installment!
Some of you will have noticed that my books have been leaving KU, this is because I am planning to go wide with them. So watch out for the announcement soon as to when each of them will be hitting the shelves on Google, apple, kobo etc. Happy reading folks 😊
has a new instalment coming this winter… What is Mr Bennet hiding? Can Elizabeth and Darcy’s love withstand the trials and tribulations this bombshell from Mr Bennet will give them? And what connection does Mr Bennet have to Lady Catherine de Bourgh? Can he be forgiven? Find the answers when Betrayal hits the shelves this winter…

I've spent the last couple of days in the kitchen baking Ginger bread 'cakes', which are more like cookies than cakes, white soup and now I'm creaming together the butter and caster sugar to make a pound cake. All Three recipes have come from a cookbook called THE JANE AUSTEN COOKBOOK. Always when cooking white soup I can't help but think of Mr Bingley declaring that he would send round his cards for his ball once Nichols had made enough White soup.
