The EQO range of aluminum tube and stainless steel pipe system products, which are practical, versatile, and cost-effective, deliver sophisticated solutions for the distribution of compressed air and industrial fluids.

The EQO series of push-fitting aluminum fittings and brightly colored powder-coated aluminum tubes in lengths ranging from 20mm to 160mm are ideal for 0-70 bar applications. It’s an accurate push-fit system with seals and stainless steel grab rings, and it offers several benefits over other designs since its smooth bore permits high volumes of air to flow.

All installations are conducted in accordance with The Pressure Systems Regulations 2000 and the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) guidelines, which all contain information on how to install various compressed air distribution systems.

Written Schemes Of Examination

Under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, users and owners of pressure systems need to show that they understand the safe working limits (especially pressure and temperature) of their operations and that they are safe following these conditions.

They require that a suitable written scheme of examination is in position before the system is operated. They also need to ensure that the system is actually examined according to the written scheme of examination.

What is a written scheme of examination?

A written scheme of examination contains information about selected items of plant or equipment that form a pressure system, operate under pressure, and contain a ‘relevant fluid’.

The phrase relevant fluid is described in the Regulations and covers compressed or liquefied gas, including air, at a pressure greater than 0.5 bar (approximately 7 psi) above atmospheric pressure; pressurised hot water above 110 °C; and steam at any pressure.

A refrigerated or refrigerant drying system offers an ideal solution for people who need to separate a large amount of water from their compressed air. This method cools the air, allowing it to condense and form droplets that can be easily collected and then reheated back up to room temperature not to cause further condensation on the outside of the pipe system.

Be aware that the ambient air around us is made up of some amount of water v***r. Consequently, when this air is compressed, its moisture content increases – and if not treated properly, it could cause problems down the line for your compressor setup. Thankfully, treating compressed air to regulate humidity levels can help prevent such issues from occurring!

When newly installed, an air dryer of a compressed air system works great. However, over time it begins to attract contaminants like oil. This prevents the machine from properly stopping moisture and other pollutants from entering the supply reservoir. As a result, all sorts of issues can occur including corrosion, malfunctions, and decreased quality in processes. If left uncorrected long enough, this will cause downtime for the entire system.

How often is breathing air testing required?

The compressor and filter can deteriorate rapidly. As a result, the HSE demands that testing be done at least every three months. They also want compressed air quality testing before each usage of equipment that is not used very often. Employers must keep track of these tests and repairs for at least five years as required by law.

So Are You Compliant To Breathing Air Quality Standards ? Its a very good question.

If your equipment being used requires compressed air, then regular and accurate testing should be done to ensure that the air quality is up to par.

The COSHH Approved Code of Practice says, “The quality of the air supplied to a breathing apparatus should be tested at least once every three months, and more frequently when the quality of the air supplied cannot be assured.”

A dryer is an essential component of any air compressor since it prevents pollutants and moisture from entering the supply reservoir. It serves as a filtration system by being placed between the supply reservoir and the compressor. Service of an air dryer on a regular basis is thus required to ensure that high-quality compressed air is completely free of moisture and impurities.
