According to the data, there are now 921 aluminium fabricators, up from 884 in 2021. This growth trajectory has been consistent since 2017 when there were 801 fabricators of aluminium fenestration products.

In contrast, there has been a continual decline in the number of PVC-U fabricators during the same period, from 1,407 in 2017 to 1,177 today, indicating a sustained preference for aluminium.

Despite economic challenges such as the cost-of-living crisis, the demand for aluminium remains strong. Homeowners with disposable income continue to invest in high-end options like aluminium bi-fold doors, sliding patio doors, and heritage windows, prompting installers to diversify their offerings to cater to this market.
